Post your Empires!

Did you mod yourself to have the flag of Germany, or does some invent in the game trigger a change?

There are different flags for each government type. So let's say you're America and you have a revolution by the noble class. They establish a constitutional monarchy with a crown in the US flag instead of the 13 stars. But with Germany, you have a revolution by the lower class that changes the Prussian flag into the one of Germany.

What I do to have a revolution is exempt every region in my home theater of taxes except the one where my capitol is. I raise taxes as high as they'll go, move all my troops a good distance away and remove all repression buildings that would ordinarily suppress any revolts. After a few turns, there will be open rebellion and you'll have the choice of joining the rebels or the government. Join the rebels and just capture the capitol city, which should have been emptied of any troops beforehand.

Ah, I see. Though I find absolute monarchy to be mounds better than the others, as I can pick my cabinet as I please.

Steam doesn't let me view the manual for some reason, though, so I can't check what the other two forms of government are good for; other than fulfilling that "clamor for reform" unhappiness.

I still find it hilarious Cheezey assuemd that for that is cearly nowhere near Kabul was the fort in Kabul. Drunk much?

I meant the fort in the picture. I thought that fortresses were pre-placed for each province, I didn't realize they were an upgrade of forts from the old games. Anyway, my problem was that the fort in the picture was not in Kabul, when in real life the fort for Kabul IS in Kabul, and thus it would be a historical inaccuracy in the game. But since forts work differently than I assumed, there is no error in the screenshot.

Monarchies can be better. Republics research faster and make more money (unless you have an excellent treasurer as a monarchy), and of course the extra happiness helps a lot. Another drawback to monarchies is that if you get a King with bad traits you're stuck with him for the whole reign. No options for regicide in ETW...

Look at what happened

Quebec can appear if France are destroyed in Europe, also. You can't 'side' with them, just make alliances and other diplomatic niceties.

Btw, do the emergent factions actually do anything? I've never seen one take another region, ever.

Still a bit confused about emergent nations. So, if I understand well, the only way to become a "new" nation and plays as them is if a rebellion happens in your capital and THEN you can side with the rebels? So in a campaign map, for instance, you can never play as the USA? They are an emerging nation that you can only interact with?

I haven't seen emergent nations do much either. I saw the Maratha empire randomly reappear after it had been all conquered, but yeah, it just stayed there. As for new emergent nations appearing, like Quebec or Ireland, maybe it just reflects a "we're just happy to actually exist" attitude, hehe.

You can't become a 'new' nation. Emergent nations are completely unplayable in the un-modded version of the game. You can have a rebellion and change your country's government, and in certain provinces a rebellion can occur which will make a new faction appear (e.g Ireland, Scotland, Afghanistan, Mexico.) But you cannot side with these nations or play with them. They just appear.

I thought Ireland was supposed to be an emerging faction, but I conquered London and Scotland, and nothing happened.

Ireland will emerge if the province rebels. You need to reduce the public order there low enough to allow it to rebel, and Irish rebels will appear. If these take the city, the country of Ireland will appear. Taking England and Scotland will not make it appear - the capital of Britain will simply move to Ireland. (That is, if they don't have any other European holdings.)

Unless they traded land they won't.

Behold, the German Empire in the summer of 1705 (nine rounds).

(But not really; I don't have Holstein or Shleswick, since I would have to conquer Denmark to get the Jutland peninsula.)

Of course, this game is now unplayable since roughly every faction in the game, save for Durgestan, is diplomatically hostile with me. But I suppose that's what Frederick II had to put up with, right?

Spoiler :

Behold, the Supreme German Empire of Europe and Russia.

Spoiler :

Empress Fredericka crushed the last Russian resistance in the far east, at the age of 73. Here's an image of Paris, my largest city (Stockholm is my richest). Should I quit the game now, invade the Balkans, invade the United States, invade India, or something else?
