I guess I, and others, are confused by these statements. You say that soldaderas themselves aren't special because irregular groups of women are used throughout Latin American countries. But you also want to use the charro, which is a variation of a cowboy, which are also used by various Latin American countries, probably more frequently than women soldiers. It seems counterproductive, unless I'm missing something.
I gave a wrong example, so it's not very clear, but what I want to say is that if Sodaderas can be nominated as a Mexican UU, then there will be no problem with the cowboy being nominated as a Mexican UU, because they have a lot of unique names in different states of Mexico.
(Not that I support vaqueros, but I think vaqueros and soldaderas are on a similar footing)
I would say charro is a general term for the irregular Mexican cavalry during the French invasion of Mexico, while chinaco refers specifically to the Republican riders, who wore red clothing.

I just disagree with the idea that cowboy and llanero are redundant, so give up the cowboy.
I support the chinaco because they are more special and belong only to Mexico. The word comes from Nahuatl and appeared in the mid-19th century. It was originally a contemptuous name for Republican irregular cavalry by conservatives, and later it was used as a name of pride by Republicans. Unlike cowgirls, they are strong and in some battles actually defeated the greatest land forces in Europe at that time.

I was thinking of going with Charlemagne for a Greece/Rome-Spain-Mexico run, mostly for celebrations. But Jose Rizal also looks very good for that, and maybe a bit more newbie friendly with all those extra yields, just for playing the game normally.

Plus, doing Rizal first means it's your first exposure to all those narrative events. They will be impactful and interesting, unlike later playthroughs when you have seen them already.
