Pre-CNES: Flowers on the Working Title

Awesome sprites :D Loving my dudes.

We can certainly work that out. You can be a different sub-sect of the Vlachids who weren't as violently anti-civilization and decadence.

Long story short, many Vlachids (particularly the Lijian-influenced ones, Lijian being my region) followed the more tolerant faith of the Thousandfold God, which is basically a spirituality without a defining god, more centered around the ideal that anything holy can be an expression of the divine. In response to Lijiani liberalism, your peoples might have broken away from the more theocratic intolerant tribes to your north, in an alliance with Lijiani republicans, and forged your own path. That allows you to work in your narrative of your capital being sacked (by the theocrats) and contacts with the outside world.

That certainly works better for me. p

Thanks Thlayli, I am relieved as this actually sounds really good for what I had in mind. Once I've read through your work properly, I may have some more suggestions but basically I think I can get in-character with this.

The 'religion' I had in mind is kinda trusting in a universal creative force/god that is not judgemental, and trusting that there is an inner soul/being that will always be in touch with the divine. The challenge is not to reach heaven, as that will always be there. Its about how much of our true (divine/joy/creative) nature we can bring into this world.

Kraz and I have been talking on #nes and we have come to the conclusion that Officers are slightly overpowered.

Also, with them costing the same as forts but basically better in every way, there's no reason to build forts ever, ever. This needs tweaking.

Another question: Shouldn't the research point requirement scale with higher tech levels? Like Level 1 techs costing 5, 2 costing 10 and so on. It gives people more incentive to get more research points, and keeps people with research labs and appropriate doctrines from running away with 3 techs in a turn.

I'll look into it. :scan:

Crezth, is it possible to have my units have hammer and sickles on them (especially tanks)?

Edit: and maybe make the coats a little less purpleish?

Sure. I was going for a scarlet color on the coats but I can scale it in the more redly direction if you like.

Hammer-sickles on the units might be a bit hard to see at this resolution, but for tanks it's a sure thing.

Crezth: Going with the nation name "The Chaoyang Intendancy".

Sweet. Thanks.

crezth, i'd prefer blackshirts > brownshirts thx

OK.

I think my submission is done now. Tell me if I did anything wrong. :)

Delish! You're all set now. Thanks!

Awesome sprites :D Loving my dudes.

Glad to hear it! :)

A couple minor things I think Crezth might have missed. First, I think all three of your free infantry are supposed to start in your capital.

Second, I think you only spent 18 NP, you have 2 left, if you want to spend them.

I presumed he bought two extra infantry with those NP to make the difference. But then it doesn't add up!

Thlayli's right, whatever.

My sprites are lovely, Crezth. I did some tweaks on the named province map based on player requests but I'm not on my laptop atm, will upload when I get home.

[NPC] The High Kingdom of Great Tython

The deep forests of the Balmora were always the traditional heartland of the Tain peoples.
But their political and economic center of gravity was always further to the south, in Ar Daeacht.
With the decline of the Ar Daeacht following the loss of Alefei, and a resurgence in power among the D'Ancau and Ankossi cities and the Birodalmat, a new Tythonic confederacy formed to combat these threats. The possession of the aforementioned deep forests made for an easier industrial era thanks to abundant charcoal, and Tythonic steamships were behind the settling of New Daeacht and Tu Gaol, both later lost to rebellion. Tython itself remains an old-guard conservative parliamentary monarchy steeped in tradition, and is fiercely protective of its industrial and cultural heartland in the Balmora. They are equally opposed to the Birodalmat and the Domeni, seeing them both as usurpers of traditionally Tain lands. They are somewhat willing to cooperate with their Tain brothers in New Daeacht if the opportunity arises.

[Recommendations: Balmora Industrialized, +2 Provinces]

[nuke] Domeni del Cendres

The Domeni is properly speaking an Imperial Federation, run in an ad hoc fashion by the Servant (an aristocratic urban prince) of Cendres, the largest city of the D'Ançau people. Descended from a mixture of Parshan, Sarkantine, and Ankossi ancestors, the D'Ançau are a hybrid race with a mixture of eastern and western traditions. This versatility allowed them to forge a multiethnic federation of Ankossi, D'Ançau, and Tain which has held together surprisingly well over the past 50 years. When anti-Tain rebellions rocked southern Selena in the last century, only the intervention of Cendres allowed the formation of a power-sharing agreement that satisfied Mormaers and Servants alike. Today, a powerful military council (with much Tain representation) works in tandem with a civil council of aristocratic Servants, led by Cendres. The cosmopolitan Semikadiran cities and their famed academies of learning have helped to make Cendres one of the most powerful and modern states in the world. But balancing this fractious alliance of ethnic groups is less challenging than the looming threats of Tython and the Birodalmat on the horizon...

I was reading the rules and I got confused.

Do people that start with ships/planes also have to start with ports and airbases? Even if they don't, my plane is essentially stuck in its starting province until I build an airbase, elsewhere, right?

In light of that I'm considering changing from a Biplane to an Armored Car.

Do people that start with ships/planes also have to start with ports and airbases?

Yes.

Even if they don't, my plane is essentially stuck in its starting province until I build an airbase, elsewhere, right?

Well, a plane can only rebase at an airbase, so yes.

Wait what? Crezth, do I have three free infantry? What free stuff do I have then?

Reading the nation submission over again, but please do still reply. :3

EDIT: Ok then: I want the three infantry units in my capital and will pay the extra NP for all the additional military to be seated in Jormunj. Will this be doable? In that case, I have one last question before potentially making this work...

What does Business & Individualism, Third Way, State Socialism or Syndicalism do? I didn't see it anywhere.

You start with 3 free infantry, all in your capital. That said, you have 2 NP remaining to spend on infantry you can put in your other province, then.

Here are the Tech Level 1 Policy techs:

Spoiler :
Business & Individualism
Category 6 Tech
Prerequisites: None
Effect: +$1 per industrialized province, +1 research points per urbanized province

Third Way
Category 6 Tech
Prerequisites: None
Effect: +$1 per industrialized and urbanized province

State Socialism
Category 6 Tech
Prerequisites: None
Effect: +$1 per industrialized province, industrialization is half as expensive

Syndicalism
Category 6 Tech
Prerequisites: None
Effect: +$1 per urbanized province, urbanization is half as expensive, +$1 for each other faction with Syndicalism

Policy techs for higher tech levels will require these policy techs in different proportions as prerequisites.

An actual tech tree would be pretty cool Crezth, even if the later techs are still ???'s.

I'm happy to do backgrounds for anyone else that needs it, but I think that CD, Iggy, Merciary, and Daft all have a clear idea of what they're going to write. And you're writing Luckymoose's apparently. I can do Omega's if he wants, but besides that I am pretty much done. :D

An actual tech tree would be pretty cool Crezth, even if the later techs are still ???'s.

Most of it will remain a secret until you get to the appropriate tech level. waiting for launch to release tech level 1 in full.

And yes, lj, you're all done!

I've completed my spending in my application here (finally). I did remove a province from my originally claimed two because someone had the grace to drop on in. Hopefully the history won't be affected :)

That area is still ethnically Parshan, but I'll have to redo your description a little.

According to what Crezth just said, we can't build biplanes unless we have airfields first.

Also, you're in a mountain province, you can't urbanize there.

3rd and 4th posts contain the most recent full draft of the rules, including tech tree and doctrine rules. Please give it a look.
