We all know how catchy it can be to celebrate a dear leader. But who has the best propaganda songs? I've listened to quite a few and I have to say Iraq (under Saddam the Allpowerful), some may say North Korea but its too "pop" for me.

FreeDomain Radio posted a "Socialism is Awesome" Chinese rock song. The English lyrics are hysterical, but the video has since been taken down. One phrase was "Imperialism is slinking away, its tail between its legs!" I suppose that means western imperialism against China, because it certainly didn't refer to Chinese imperialism, which is healthy enough.

I enjoy listening to the music of Ernst Busch, a German socialist whose songs called for German socialists to rise up against Hitler and stop fighting against the Soviet union. I like the anti-Hitler bit, but a German singing for Russia is just perverse in light of Russian's relationship with the DDR.

This one features Hitler being beaten on the head with a newspaper like a dog. The little worker cheering his downfall is god-awful funny.

Damn, that is pretty catchy even for a German song....but Germans rising up and helping the Red Army.....seriously. Thats so high treason, even if it is Hitlers Germany, high treason all the way.
