Genetic mutation is 100% natural. That is how we got to where we are.

Genetic mutations ARE natural, otherwise evolution is not natural.

But, if that mutation causes that animal to be unable to reproduce? (Animals would not be like humans, if they were gay they wouldnt pursue having offspring.)

I don't think as humans, it matters wether Homosexuality is natural or not. Humans participate in all kinds pf "un-natural" activities all the time without any sense of guilt about violating the natural "order". Therefore the only reason for trying to prove the naturalness or un-naturalness of the act is to further an agenda, confuse the issue. Marriage enforce an unnatural act upon the participants as well, therefore the it should gay marriage is unnayural.

If the gene for homosexuality is/was of no value to a critter's evolutionary success, then it would/will go away. Genetics and evolutionary success are not simple. "Gay" animals might be bisexual.

I read in the WSJ today a great article about cricket sex and how males and females have evolved. He wants her to be monogamous and she wants to be promiscuous. I cannot post the link, but you should seek it out. It is part of the science journal column on the front page of lthe Marketplace section for Friday Feb 10.

I don't have to 'prove' jack. It's unnatural to me, and enough people feel the same way that we banned gay marriage. I couldn't care less of two guys (or gals) want to shack up, but don't expect benefits.

How about, since gay marriage would change what has been the norm in America since its founding, you prove it is natural. I'd say the burden is on you.

Why don't you want to give them benefits just because they're someone you're not thourogh no falt of their own. This is simply a facist way to think.

And it sound pretty unnatral to me to make a bond of love only avalibe to one type of people, i.e. hetrosexual couples. Why would I want to do that?

My objection to gay marriage is family related. In the traditional man/woman marriage the children are related to both families generically. While family and clan are not as important as they once were, there are sound sociological principle undergirding the traditional version of marriage, which extend far beyond the two people involved. In a gay marriage, these things are not even possible.
