I won't do that, but I could make some hotkeys for quickly opening/closing and switching between the tabs. Like the keys "1 2 3".@Toffer90 StrategyOnly said, that he disliked new city build bar.
Is it possible to make it switchable between new and old (vanilla) version trough BUG option?
You could add help tooltip saying, that vanilla version doesn't separate buildable and unbuildable buildings/units

I haven't used this system yet but how do you switch to being able to see the city plots so you can claim plots for the city and determine what population is working where? Is there a button that gets the selection panel out of the way for that?@Toffer90 StrategyOnly said, that he disliked new city build bar.

Awesome. @SO - I think you should try to get used to this. It does represent a huge improvement in a player's ability to make selections in buildings and units because you don't have to go scrolling through to see what all is available and that will give you an enormous advantage in this once you're comfortable with it. This switching back to being able to see the city plots was the only concern I really had on that and it sounds like it's been very well considered how to swap back and forth with great ease. There are three ways to close the build tab panel:
PPIO v0.5.9.7.2
- One can click outside the build tab panel on either side or above it.
- One could click the button that opens the build tab if it is already open.
- Clicking the hotkey for the open tab will close it.
SVN rev.10283
- Added city screen hotkeys that toggle the display of the build tab panels.
- 1 for unit tab
- 2 for building tab
- 3 for wonder tab
Maybe U for Units, B for Buildings and W for Wonders?Edit: {
Heh, didn't notice that, maybe those hotkeys are in use by the exe or something, I'll look into fixing that problem tomorrow.
}
Tried pressing the 1-9 keys in the city screen on C2C without my modmod and figured out that you can save queue selections by pressing Ctrl+number.
I didn't know about this feature that makes it possible to save build queues on the number keys making it possible to switch between many different queues in the city screen.
I can either remove that functionality, I know how to do that, or I could use other keys for the build tab hotkeys.
It's a neat feature so I won't remove it.
Which keys would make sense to use?
Possible hotkeys to use:
Numpad keys are off limits as those already have useful functionality within the city screen.
- Q, W, E
- A, S, D
- B, N, M
- Z, X, C
Any other suggestions?
So long as UBW isn't in use now, I like it.Maybe U for Units, B for Buildings and W for Wonders?
Also i like bigger flags. Now I can instantly see where animals are.
I think some unit actions may use them, but you most likely don't have unit selected, if you select citySo long as UBW isn't in use now, I like it.
Better to explain it somewhere in text for the player on the UI so we know it's there!I could override this original functioning of the hotkey when a city is selected if I must.
If you can find a suitable way to make this operate, go for it.Wouldn't it be better to use three buttons that are together on the keyboard rather than spread around it?
I guess you could use ASD then.Wouldn't it be better to use three buttons that are together on the keyboard rather than spread around it?
"W" cannot be used, it already has a function when selecting a city but not entering it, dunno if the function is important though.
Hitting "W" when a unit is selected takes you to the next unit that needs an order and puts the last unit last in the order of units that needs orders this turn.
It seems to function the same way when cities are selected as it takes you to the next unit that needs an order.

Edit: I personally like A, S and D for this.
S and D keys are switched up.PPIO v0.5.9.7.3
SVN rev.10287
- Changed city screen hotkeys that toggle the display of the build tab panels.
- 'A' for unit tab
- 'S' for building tab
- 'D' for wonder tab
- Reduced max size for the flags a bit more.
- Tweaked the unit health bar and city bar some more.
- Adjusted text position in the city work queue a bit higher so that it doesn't go outside the row on the bottom (Sylfaen text is placed a bit lower than Linux libertine text)
