But it is just a destroyer. And only slightly larger than the Invincible class.

It's a helicopter carrier. Very useful in anti submarine warfare, but not that useful as an offensive weapon.

Gotta say, the Queen Elizabeth looks pretty rectangular. Is there a reason why they didn't use an angled flight deck?

Angled flight deck only really gives advantage for high capacity and fixed wing takeoffs and landings. This thing is for jumpjets only, and so doesn't need it.

Because they are STOVL carriers. Without the arrested recovery, the angled flight deck is pointless as its purpose is to extend the length of the usable deck for landing aircraft on.

Look at the USN, the VTOL Wasp class has a straight flight deck, the CATOBAR Nimitz is angled. The Soviet Kutsetsov is STOBAR and consequently has a angled flight deck.

In addition, an angled flight deck was incorporated into the plan to convert the Queen Elizabeth Class to CATOBAR.

And that means it can transit Panama. American supercarriers can't.
