Does any one watch this show? If you do, do you enjoy it? Why or why not?

Now, obviously, we have quite a few straight men here at CFC (a glut of men in a computer gaming forum? Do go on!) Would the straight men here sign up for the show to be made over? Why or why not?

I have no need for the show and no need for a gay makeover. If you don't like me the way I am, well, piss on you.

(no hostility directed at you evie, I just find such shows utterly and completely pointless)

 I understand. Personally, if I was a straight man, I wouldn't want to go on the show. It's like five lesbians coming into my house telling me I dress wrong and I can't decorate properly. I wouldn't like it. But I'm curious to see how many guys here would volunteer themselves. I was going to put a poll in, but I only thought of the idea after I posted. :cringe:

Ah, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Another pointless excuse for a show that accomplishes nothing but perpetuating gay stereotypes.

I personally think the show is... well... stupid. The "division" between gay and straight people nowadays are starting to get out of hand. Reminds me of watching the thing abou the Gay country singer. Why the hell do we care if a person is straight or gay? Sure, I don't think it's right, but what I think doesn't matter.

The show is lame, by any definition. And I agree that it perpetuates stereotypes, in addition to insinuating that gays are the only folks that have any fashion sense.

But, they might do a good job with Saddam!:

:D

Are we getting bit offtopic with the discussions of Saddam . I honestly beleve it would be funny to see Saddam be remade.

I agree. To bad there is not a Gay, Straight, Bi Alliance group in my School. I personaly wont mind getting made over since I am used to hanging around gay people. (Hmm, am I turning Bi here :hmm:. Must do some more research)

While it does perpetuate the gay steriotype, and MANY in the gay community feel exploited by it, such perpetuation and explotation is needed to start breaking down the homophobial and other 'disagreements'. Its something every opessed minority in this country had to go though. And in general it seems to work.

I agree. Though I beleve that Education and Tolerance holds the key. We should be tolerant to other people of there sexual preferances, Even if we have to work hard since it would take time.

If a persion is surounded by a few gay freinds, then that persion would be tolerant to them. For example, When I was young I used to be in a school where you saw a good amount of Afican Americans and I was not rased with pejudice so I grew to accept an African American persion as an individual.

We all must break the prejudice of gays and grow to accept them as an individual.

If there was a "Gay-Streight Alliance" Group, I would join it in a heartbeat.

From Croxis
CG, just because you hang with gay people doesn't make you one.

Well, I have gotten used to this one guy who comes into the lounge that does act gay around me and my freinds.

I like the show, and think it's quite clever. It's been overexposed, however, and I think people will get sick of it soon.

I would participate in the show in a heartbeat -- you get thousands of dollars worth of stuff, including (often) a Plasma TV in exchange for letting the Fab Five make you over. It would be worth it to me.

Plus I have no problem with constructive criticism, and I trust those guys taste and sensibilities.

As one has said afore, one does not like it, nor its entire genre. Sheer degenerate wickedness. Whatever happened to wholesome television role models like Mr. Humphries from 'Are You Being Served'?

I'm waiting for Straight Eye for a Queer Guy. Within two weeks, the contestant is transformed with beergut, tattoos, football, a pickup truck and a shrill wife named Wilma Mae with blue hair and low grade nymphomania

I never heard of it. Then again, TV-knowledge is not my best side... If I have understood this correctly, gay men are doing "make overs" for straight men? Is that what TV has come to? It's getting worse by the day...

If I got this right, the answer to the question at hand is quite simple:

no

ive never seen the show, but the adverts just instantly make me not want to see it. im not sure if there the same in the US or elsewhere but its just some fat slob sitting ina an armchair with 5 blokes rushing round him, it looks so rubbish. like big brother or survivor, shows like that have had their moment and should now leave.
