Questions about Brave New World that don't deserve their own thread.

don't know if that has been asked/answered before, but i couldn't find anything via the search function:

from the "what we know about bnw" thread:
- Unique Building - Candi; Replaces the Garden; Must be built in a city on a river or lake; It grants you +2 Faith for every world religion that has at least one follower in the city.
does this mean the Candi loses the 25% GP generation ability of the garden or is the above mentioned in addition to the original function? the former would be rather bad, imho. couldnt find the screenshot/video still where the info came from, though

Candi still has the 25% GP generation, screenshot in the spoiler.

I have a question about Byzantium. Since we know that somehow we're able to pick up Reformation beliefs, I believe it is safe to presume that they'll be in a menu like the other belief types once you fulfill whatever the requirement is.

My question is... can the Byzantines start a religion with a Reformation belief thanks to their UA? If I remember correctly, they get to pick that extra belief from all beliefs (follower, founder, enhancer) when they found a religion, so I'm wondering if they'll get to pick from the Reformation beliefs on founding, too.

do we know if there are any improvements on diplomacy A.I, or the AI as a whole? or is update to cultural victory and a couple of new civs the only new thing with this expansion?

On Byzantium and Reformation beliefs: your guess is as good as mine.

Whenever this question is asked, they always answer carefully by saying that yes, a lot of work has been put into the the AI and it has been improved a lot since Civ V's initial release. But they never say it's been improved compared to G&K. So don't expect a lot of improvement.

National Wonders require you to build one of whatever prerequisite building in each of your cities. The three GWAM guilds are National Wonders.

Do we know what their prerequisite buildings are?

Do they even have any?

The tool tip for the Guilds say nothing about requirements.
Heck, the tool tip says nothing about them being National Wonders! Nothing about their cost going up with number of cities... Heck, they even have a maintenance cost!

Where is this talk that they are National Wonders coming from?

They were seen listed in the Wonders. It is assumed they are National Wonders since they are not among the 8 new World Wonders.

Yes, but they were listed BELOW the World Wonders in the one screenshot I remember seeing.
Either way, that screams that it is a bug, and the tool tip is closer to a regular building than a National Wonder.

Since we can deduce the positioning of the Guilds is bugged, it's not very hard to think it was supposed to belong in the Buildings section (again, the tool tip is way closer to a regular building than a Wonder - and it has a maintenance cost!).

i suppose the diplomacy AI will have to get an update, with world congress resolutions and everything coming up

I was going to suggest that they might be considerred equivelent to Projects (like the Apollo Program and the Manhattan Project) which would allow for only one per civ (like National Wonders) rather than one per game (like World Wonders), but not require the prerequisite building that National Wonders do. But the Projects are listed at the TOP of the Wonders section, so there goes that idea.

Unless they're a new "type" of Wonder (i.e. Projects, World Wonders, National Wonders, and Cultural Centers or something).

I agree that it makes sense that you can only build one of each per civilization, and that's probably why they're listed with the Wonders and Projects. Whether they are technically National Wonders or Projects or something else is open to debate, but it's clear from the tooltips that they don't have building prerequisites.

That's interesting. If true, then there is no advantage to staying small with regards to generating GWAMs via the guilds.

That's why I thought they might be a new "type"

1) They're listed in the Wonders section of the Build List
2) They aren't World Wonders b/c every civ can build one
3) They aren't National Wonders b/c they don't have a building prerequisite
4) They aren't Projects because they are listed at the bottom of the list rather than at the top.

But, then again, all the new Units and Buildings from G&K are listed at the bottom of their respective sections, so maybe #4 isn't correct and they are in fact Projects.

Does any one know who got involved in the community testing for BNW and provided advices for the developer?

Has there been a screenshot that shows them already built in the city? If so, were there multiple guilds built? Perhaps a civilization or city can only have one.

No, & nor will we find out until *after* the game is released-as they're bound by a strict NDA. I think its fair to say, though, that they're some of the most avid members of the forum &/or modding community!

Aussie.

Have they released any of the new music in BNW yet? I love Civ 5's music. :)

If only I were one of them :p
