Mech Infantry come with March, don't they?

Sounds perfect! Do you know of a similar mod for the basic Civ IV? I don't play any of the expansions atm. I'm having a hard time finding one.

In another thread, someone said that the vanilla HOF mod adds many of the features of BUG to vanilla. You can find it in the Hall of Fame forum.

When I was building a monument in one of my cities, it said that I could not build it anymore--production converted back to gold, start a new project, etc. I had just completed Stonehenge. Is that the reason I couldn't build a monument? If not, what might be? (Pretty sure I didn't finish researching anything.)

I've never had that happen, but Stonehenge is almost certainly the reason why. Stonehenge gives every one of your cities a Monument, so it would remove Monuments from the build options in every city. If you have production going toward something that you can't make any more, you get some gold for your wasted time.

Can any of the experts tell me if that would be a good way to get some failgold? Have a couple cities get to 27-28:hammers: on Monuments and then build Stonehenge? Or would it not be worth it?

EDIT: Or how about Broadcast Tower failgold from building the Eiffel Tower?

You don't get fail gold for monuments. Same thing happens if you discover astronomy when building a monument. Also if you were building a monastery when you discover scientific method.

I think you only get fail gold for wonders (world & national).

That's what I always assumed, but I sure can't think of any other reason for what Ember Nickel described. :dunno:

I haven't expressly noticed, but don't you get one gold for each hammer invested? In which case you might as well build wealth. Unless you have a resource or leader which increases build rate of wonders.

I also once did this when I switched from organized religion and was mad when I couldn't spam any more missionaries (at least without monasteries. Then I got the tech [was it Liberalism?] that obsoleted the monastery so I was in trouble. I switched back to OR). No gold there, either.

Also, how would one "fail" an national wonder?

You switch the city that builds it.

Scientific Method.
I "failed" a national wonder once, decided to change which city it was in.

You only get fail gold for wonders. If you got some in that city where the monument didn't finish, I'm guessing that you probably built Stonehenge there for a turn or two (or more) then stopped. When you completed it in another city, you got fail gold from the other one.

Go on the city screen and it'll be next to the minimap, right above the whip and rushbuy buttons as well as the govenor controls.

what are the consequences of drafting units??
