Quick Answers / 'Newbie' Questions

When an AI captures a worker, do they always disband/kill it?
Because I've never seen the AI capture and keep a worker, even if it was originally their own, and even if it's safely within their own territory.

...or, does the AI cheat and immediately make the worker run away (you can't use a captured worker until your next turn), but the game's camera is just showing me something else whilst this happens so I've never seen a captured worker run away yet?

...or does the AI not cheat, and there are actually some situations where it doesn't kill workers? o.O

Although I have only had some of my workers captured by an AI once, I did see them move away on the following turn. I think that you need to have the Show Enemy Movements (or some similar name) box checked on the options screen to see this happen.

How exactly does "drafting" do? Could someone please explain the mechanics in it. For example, what does "Can Draft Extra 3 Units per Turn" mean?
Thanks :)

I do have it checked (I don't understand why someone wouldn't want to see their enemy's moves o.O), and it's never done that.

You draft/conscript citizens from your cities in to whatever the all-purpose infantry unit of the time is, by using the Draft button directly above the Hurry Production buttons.
It only works on cities over size 6, and people aren't too happy with being forced in to the army against their will. Plus, since you're just picking up civilians and giving them minimal training, any experience a unit would normally gain from being trained in that city is halved when deciding how much exp the drafted unit gets.

You can force 3 population points per turn throughout your whole nation in to the army per turn, though when I play, I think I'm allowed 5. Maybe it's BTS or a patch.

I just bought a new laptop that runs windows 7 - 64bit.

Should I expect any problems if I want to install BTS on it ? do I need to install any patches somewhere?

thanks !

I run it on a quad core 64 bit Windows 7 laptop (Asus).

The only minor problem I get is that at random moments the keyboard will stop working. I have to save the game, get out to desktop and restart Civ.

That may of course be a difficulty with the laptop.

What happens if you build the great wall and own all land in the world, but there is a barbarian in your borders? (Let's say you built it incredibly late but needed a cultural victory, conquest and domination were turned off)

Is there any program/ website where I can take an XML file, and have it point out the parsing errors?

I can't seem to find the error in my mod file, but it won't load, and I don't want start again from the beginning, and I forgot to back it up after the latest changes.

...or you can kill off all civs that use Emancipation. XD

Anybody know where I can find a download version of BTS? I've got the Gold addition which covers Vanilla and Warlords, but would like to upgrade to BTS and don't really want to wait for it to be shipped if it's available in download format. I've scoured local shops and can't find a copy anywhere. Thanks.
