When I don't look in the mirror, I am 16 and young and naive.Back then I believed that Democrats are well intentioned and never lie and genuinely compassionate about facilitating the success of minorities.

And then the illusion failed upon opening history books. They want to exploit some minorities votes and will say anything to try to accomplish this.

While other minority groups rose in real economic power, others were stunted by barriers and by listening to hollow promises.

Then perpetuate stereotypes and enact gun control and facilitate high murder rates and abortions of the very groups they claim to desire to help.

Republicans are more honest. They will tell you point blank that power is about wealth. Make more income than your expenses and university education= success and respect.

That is a real honest to goodness deal. Anyone can do that...not wait for promises that are fairy tales.

Democrats put up evidence and Republicans scream "FAKE NESW!"

Republicans put up fake news and scream "I made this up 3 seconds ago, therefor you must believe that it is true!"

These are not equal things. Republicans are increasingly choosing to live in a fake news bubble, and we just don't know how to penetrate that. If Republicans and Democrats were receiving the same facts, and acknowledging them as the same facts, and reacting to them differently, then there would at least be some foundation from which to begin a discussion. As it is the reason it so commonly ends in trolling is that it actually began in trolling. If Limbaugh says it, it's not a fact, it's a troll. If Coulter says it, it's not a fact, it's a troll. If Hanity says it, it's not a fact, it's a troll. If Fox 'news' says it, it's not a fact, it's a troll. If Trump says it, it's not a fact, it's a troll. The 'facts' that Republicans are basing their world view from are entering this world as deliberate trolling.

I'm confused as to what this thread is suggesting... Correct me if I'm assuming wrong, but it seems like you're saying that Blacks would be better off if they were mixed in with the general population so they could give a roughly 15 pt boost to the Democrats chosen candidate, rather than having the option of electing a representative of their choosing. Am I assuming correctly, and if so how would this be better?

Setting aside that the fact that African Americans are effectively boxed into one party is highly problematic in it's own right, "the good thing" would be for African Americans to have adequate leverage. I.e. they should be packed and thus damn "their" party to minority status. They should have a meaningful chance to pick their prefered candidate in the primary and win the general.
In North Carolina this may mean them being 35% of a district with a helping of 20% white Democrats. In Mississippi it doesn't, because said helping dopesn't exist there.

What i am mostly saying though is that white liberals have to get their bloody story straight on this and be honest about the considerations involved, rather than, you know, what they actually did the last couple years...
