I hate wonder bread.

What's wonder bread? Is it like wonder woman only in bread form?

It's a cheap brand of bread in North America.

Also, I don't know how that posted three times.

I mostly hate wonder bread because of the texture. Compared to other white breads, it's just kind of...I can't think of the word, sorry.

So I take it that north america has figured out bread then? UK/AU/NZ has very much not. Their breads are all terrible. Spongy tasteless matter than is an insult to real bread.

In Nova Scotia, there's some local bakeries that know what they're doing. I like to wait till they are on sale and then get some and freeze them in the freezer.

I think CFC glitched when I was posting it. I'm not about to go all over and post "I like video games" a dozen times in different threads again.

Bakery bread is obviously the best but it goes bad after like three days. Wonder bread can survive a fungal plague and come out the other side weeks later just fine. :smug:

I find Sara Lee to be much better (I really like their 100% whole wheat bread) ... it's still soft, and keeps well like you say, but it's not bleached and doesn't taste terrible.

You also can double or triple your bakery bread shelf life by keeping it in your refrigerator.

I don't know if you tried this, but look for some bread clips. (I use ones that look like this. Except I paid $3 for them at Dollarama instead of $50 ) Although I mostly got them for accessibility reasons as I have trouble getting the regular bread tags on and off, they seem to help with freshness a bit too.

People don't refrigerate bread?

That often means "money."

People don't refrigerate bread?

Nope. Bread outside of fridge, butter outside of fridge.

Wonderbread is "airy." It's mostly air, it's really cheap. At a certain point, you're getting what you pay for for. Sourdough and rye are amazing, but easily triple to like seven times the cost.
