besides horribly messing up my sleep schedule for the individual days--going to get ~4 hours tonight-- and general life stuff, to return to the woes of online attempts at dating I guess I do have to resign and throw in the towel for another 6 months or so.
I've dwindled low on the hope scale. Well, more accurately I guess okcupid is just a massive bust for me. There doesn't seem to be too many users in my area and I just don't feel up for the battle for a <10% response rate and <5% mutual-profile-view-rate [with like 1 profile view a week of someone I did not look at or message first; I do message first with simple non-physically-descript message about people's profiles for those I seem slightly interested in]. At least I trust it to be accurate that those users are in their location, compared to tinder which has pretty bad location flukes (or seemingly difficult for me to parse what it displays, as if not "calibrated" right on some days thinking I am somewhere else or having a mix-and-match of calibration, etc).
I didn't know things would be so hard.
Don't waste all your time trying to learn how to do math for engineering purposes and taking on more academic non-research school work. You'll forget how to do all of it, won't actually use it at your job, and have nothing to show for it.
Tinder actually works better though. I guess for curiousity sake I wish I knew the the average user's non-reply rate, just because those two services are quite different in initial function
