Sexism in comics from the 60s, oh my!

And thats not even the tip of the iceberg, I had previously read about Jean Grey's initial role in the comics was to portray a damsel in distress that the others would constantly be saving and hitting on. And then the main reason behind the popular phoenix / dark phoenix saga's was to empower her beyond initially being the weakest member to the strongest, and then most dangerous.

Yeah, because it was SUPER racist at the time to feature all-whites in a comic made in a nation that was 85% white at the time.

That would be like calling a movie made in India racist for having an all-Indian cast.

That percentage is so wackidoodle, I went searching on line to fine the real percentage. It turns out Commodore is 100% correct.

Today, that amount is down to 47%. We seem to have carelessly misplaced a lot of our white folks.

Nah, today white people are about 63% of the population. It is in 2050 that whites are expected to only be 47% of the population.

The interesting thing is how little the percentage of black people has changed in the US. In 1960, they were about 11% of the population while today they are only 12% and by 2050 they are only expected to be 13% of the population.

I've spent hours trying to fix a network printer at my parents' house, finally got fed up and just redid the printer's wireless settings and reinstalled the printer on the desktop. But now my laptop and the phones can't see it. I have it marked as shared, there's nothing obviously wrong with the things, they just won't connect.

Quite frustrated now.

I had to reconnect to my printer last week. Printers are seriously the worst kind of electronics to deal with.

it is surprisingly difficult to shop for tire chains/snow chains (or cables) online. Particularly since things don't actually list the tire sizes they fit, etc, yet every single tire is required to be labelled with a straight forward dimensions listed on the tire

and I drive literally the most generic car ever (older toyota camry) and also is subject to what is called "sae class s" clearance. Things should just list "fits tire sizes <XXX-YY-ZZ>" and slap the "class S" on their since a lot of passenger vehicles have that in their owner manuals

i actually bought cable-type (would probably prefer chains) and ehhh hope they work fine.

Rant: Roommates have people over at my place. Friend invited me out of my room, but I told her I was writing a paper, so instead I might come out when it was finished.

Finished writing the paper and now I'm too awkward to take the initiative and go out. There's like one too many people I don't know and it makes me feel uncomfortable, even though I'd probably enjoy hanging out. Probably just waste the opportunity playing video games
