Rant: I'd installed an extension that was supposed to prevent my browser from discarding certain tabs, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Another rant: My cat is sick. She threw up white foam stuff all over the house, so I think it's just a hairball or something. I put a bowl of water next to her bed and she's drinking a little bit but I wish there was more I could do.

If you're truly getting old you would have learned better and weaseled your way into helping without using your back.
But that's easier to say when I haven't moved in close to 30 years so haven't needed any help recently.

Those threads were an aggravation to moderate, and led to an argument in the newly-created A&E forum over double standards in OT and A&E. If you want to look at naked people, there might be a picture or two of "David" in A&E.

We've all been imagining what you look like. My personal idea is a friendly tuxedo cat who reads Dragonlance novels. Sort of like my Tomtat, but with the ability to speak, read, and write English. That said, Tomtat had good conversational skills, once the other person had learned to speak cat.

I miss the babes thread. It was like a food thread is when it goes right... surface level but something people could enjoy joshing over so long as it was with some class. It's elimination as inappropriate tips the scales toward acrimonious content and away from shared humanity. Even the couple instances I remember spats broke out about body types, it seemed mostly positive.

I realize it was Google or some such idiocy, but still a victory for the dour isolating puritans. Tak swimsuit photos for days.

Me too. I only one time went into the pictures-of-members thread. I saw an actual picture of one poster. I liked the sense of that poster that I'd based on his avatar better than seeing what he actually looked like. So I never went back again. But this is why I'm very disconcerted when people change their avatar.
