Screw you Carson. What about the thousands of veterans like me who rely on the VA for medical care for injuries we sustained while serving our nation? My injury doesn't fall under TBI or limb replacement, but that doesn't mean I'm in any less need of the care I get for my knee. You see, this is that attitude in the government I'm talking about. That attitude that once a soldier is done serving it's "thanks for your service, now f off."

Every time I read stories like this it builds up a little more motivation to gather some of my old Army buddies together and organize a political party with the goal of achieving a Starship Troopers type society.

BTW: I want it known that I don't make a habit of reading CNS news. The headline was just on my homepage so I clicked on it.

Although I'm going to be relying on the VA to pay a large chunk of my college bill here in a few months, I've often wondered why the VA exists as an independent Federal Department. I think he is right that the VA could be folded into the DoD, although then it would technically be considered military spending when it is not, but reading the article gives me the impression he has a severe lack of understanding about the military so I'm not inclined to trust his ability to do it well.

Edit: After rereading I definitely don't support putting the VA into the DoD, although it doesn't change the fact that the VA has a ton of issues which need to be addressed. Though honestly my entire opinion of the VA is tainted because I want real universal healthcare and cheap/free college for everybody which mostly what the VA spends money on. So I'm probably not the right person to talk about this.

My guess is that since the F-35 is supposed to be able to handle any role they are going to test it against our current aircraft for those roles to see if the F-35 will actually be an improvement. Of course I doubt the F-35 will be able to perform better in the ground attack role than the A-10. You know, the whole "jack of all trades, master of none" thing.

And yeah, it annoyed the crap out of me that the author of the article called the A-10 a fighter craft. I guess that's what you get when journalists with absolutely no knowledge of the military report on the military though.

And I'm pissed about one of my friends.
She just moved away (due to studying). We had not seen each other for 2 months. I had just birthday (same as her mothers), she didn't gratulate me, didn't respond to my birthday invitation, didn't come to my birthday party (the day before her move). When I texted her that I'm disappointed, she told me that I shouldn't give her that crap, she's stressed due to the moving.
