No I fully get that, and I'm saying there's nothing wrong with that. As long as money is tied to acquiring our basic survival needs, then there is absolutely nothing morally wrong with doing whatever you can to make as much money as you possibly can in your lifetime. I mean, having a code of ethics is nice and all, but ethics and morals don't put food on your table or put a roof over your head.
I also find the people who usually criticize others for selling out fall into three basic categories: those who aren't making enough money to meet their needs and have become resentful towards those who are, those who are already living a comfortable life so they can actually prioritize things like ethics and morals, and those who see themselves as being negatively impacted by the sellout's quest for riches whether that negative impact is real or merely perceived.
I can understand the idea of someone doing unsavory things to survive, but if you're already comfortable, or even rich, and still are controlled by selfishness and greed, there's something wrong with you.
