Lately I've been thinking and wondering if I spend so much time on the net because I've lost interest in life, or if I've lost interest in life because I spend so much time on the net.

Rant: I found a pile of coin wrappers for pennies in a box of stuff. Canada stopped issuing pennies years ago. They're still legal currency to buy stuff, but they're never given in change, I'm never going to find enough to use up all these wrappers, and they don't fit any other denomination of coin.

The logical action would be to toss them out, but I've been conditioned to consider that wasteful.

Sell or trade them to someone in the US. Our pennies are close enough to the same size, and we still use them.

Turn 'em into ornaments.

I have no idea how this would work. These are cardboard tubes that are intended to hold 50 pennies. You put them in one end, fold the top over when you have 50 cents' worth, and then take it to the bank to either deposit or exchange for two quarters (we do have 50-cent pieces and they're legal tender, but for some reason they tend to remain mostly kept by collectors).

Not sure how I would ever make cardboard chainmail out of them, unless you mean I should cut them apart to make cardboard rings and cut and glue them together.

I'm starting to get a mental image of how it could be done, but that would take an insane amount of work for something I can't even fathom having a use for.
