Just got advised yesterday to grow a bit of a beard. Maybe....

My own rants:
2 of my best friends (m/f) have a problem right now, because they just recently made out with each other and now don't know how to deal with it. And the lady seems to be seriously sad.
This doesn't come unexpected, but would've been better if it hadn't happened. Now there's the mess.

Unrelated rant: One of my other colleagues just gave me a new house mate. One of her students can't find a room, and I have one free (which I normally don't rent out, because I like living on my own), and cannot really say no in that case...*sigh*.

Reception in Western NoVa is worse than Eastern Panhandle of WV where I live. On way to visit family in Fairfax Co.

After some long talks yesterday...she wants to, he doesn't, he's a bit of an idiot (like e.g. wants to have the perfect girl, who also goes fishing and hunting with him...good luck with that). He'll talk to her probably tomorrow or Tuesday.
I wonder if I should talk to her before and tell her what's going to happen. Or let them figure out the rest themself.

I feel seriously sad for the girl. He's really an idiot in this situation, and she doesn't deserve that. After talking to him, I think she would not want him if she knew.
But well...feelings.

Well, tbh, using "fishing rod" for that wouldn't really be a euphemism!

In he same vein that calling it 'tentacle' wouldn't. It is just a metaphor. Euphemism turns something negative into something positive, eg "Cape of good hope" (cause ships routinely were being sunk there).

Didn't Shakespeare have one of his characters quip that he was going fishing in a peculiar river?

Now that would have been one helluva rant. Thankfully it was my non-euphemistic rod that broke. Still annoying though.
Yet another missed opportunity. :/

I would have thought he had died decades ago... Rip though :)

Only remember him from the 80s movie 'the woman in red', which for some reason was popular here (on tv a number of times).

True to the spirit of him, I've just pictured him as ‘freshly killed’.

^That's osam and all Ow, yet he wasn't that known here. I have to suppose that one movie was on tv relatively often due to having a hot woman and a sensationalist twist on the dubbed title in greek (rendering it to something analogous to 'the mega-babe in red') :p

The 80s were the era of the video-renting store, and foreign movie titles were routinely altered at the time. Thankfully that fashion died out in the 90s.

Yes. Well, it's said of a character who is being hauled off to prison for it.

"Groping for trouts [specifically] in a peculiar river"

Measure for Measure

That's it! I knew I'd read it before. :)

well, I'm back to my rut. Really losing hope fast.

I really did try in the past 2 years. As much as I think I could, at least. And now things are back to getting worse each and every day. Things will level off and be stable, but it takes a herculean effort to get back on the upswing. I don't think I have many attempts left.
