Youtubers pushing sponsorship stuff is such a turn-off though. I get it, but I hate it.

The best ones can work it into their content without the viewer even noticing. Markiplier is a good example of that.

The complexity of having to go through the insurance benefit options and determine what combination of plans and HSA/FSA might be better than my parents plan (which I can be on for another 2 years) makes a strong argument for a cradle-to-grave welfare state.

That rant really is worth posting twice. Death to bureaucracy!

That's against marketing laws in the UK. If someone in the UK makes a sponsored video, it must be clearly called out in the description and on the thumbnail. Various British vloggers got caught out by that some time back.

Besides, people like Jim Sterling and Hank Green have complained about AdBlock before and I think it was the gamer KSI who claimed that something like two-thirds of his views were made through AdBlock. I dislike adverts on YouTube probably more than most people, but if I'm going to watch a lot of YouTube, I make the effort to watch it without adverts (generally through my Xbox). I definitely have no regrets for using an extension to stop videos auto-playing, because that is even more infuriating than adverts.

I honestly wouldn't mind Youtube ads so much if they come at the end of the video instead of the start.

But then no one would watch them. People would just watch the video and then click away once the ad starts.

Rant: ad nauseam use of the phrase "double down" in press coverage of the American presidential election.

More grating to the ear now than "at the end of the day."

So, at the end of the day, if they double-down on overusing clichéd phrases, what will you do? :p

Why, I might wait until the sun sets and place a bet worth twice my original bet that they will keep using these annoying phrases.

Mine is "fair enough", most arrogant and unfriendly.

Not looking forward to the 2016 US elections. Not at all. It's eather vote for a liar or a ranting offensive plutocrat if I don't want to throw my vote away.

Not that I envy your choice at all, but there is considerably more to it than that.

I'm not really a fan of Hillary, but she's miles better than Trump.

I guess that's not really saying much, because I'd even take George W. Bush over Trump at this point.

I'm sick of the bloody greek numbers
No, as the thread title says, they're sick of YOU, man.

If only the offensive plutocrat was truthful…
