Random Rants VII: Why do they ALWAYS do that?!

Well I got obliterated last night with some very cheap wine. Made me queasy and go into seizures. A friend stayed with me though and blabbed on about his problems. I hate being the resident psychologist for everyone. Later on when I recovered from it, we started talking about religion (only time I can stomach the issue is when I am drunk) and stuff relating that. I've totally smashed his arguments and won the debate which was highly reminiscent of OT discussions on religion. Then we packed up and went home with the promise we'd go back for the booze we left behind and go to the 80's party that is tonight. Not sure if I want to subject myself to that but it's my last night out before school starts and there's nothing else in town. Oh bugger...

Imma downloadin' Portal to my laptop since the main computer is down. Hope it runs OK. :undecide:

My mom just gave me the most retarted lecture ever... She asked me, if I play 2 hours of video games at a time, why don't I do 3 hours of homework at a time? Hello? Anyone home? Video games are actually able to be played more than 1 hour without getting bored. Homework, on the other hand is boring and dull. How anyone could possibly do more than 30 minutes of homework at a time is beyond me. If I'm gonna fail 9th grade cause of that attitude, too fricking bad. Let me fail.

That's the spirit! :D

Seriously though, freshman year really does count. I regret a lot of the goofing around I did back then. :shake:

really? wow. For me all that counted was being honour roll (80+, easy, never did work and slept in class) grade 9-10, then grade 11 & 12 counted.

Where I go to school, "honor roll" is considered 90's. While I didn't manage that in all my classes, that's not really the most important part.

In order to get into most AP and college-level classes, your average from all 3 years has to be a certian number. For example, I couldn't take AP Physics next year if I wanted to because of my 9th grade biology grade bringing down the science average. It's complete bull and isn't fair, but that's how it works. Now, I'm perfectly content with AP Environmental Science this year along with plenty of other advanced classes, but it is one less option available to me.

I went to get a haircut, asked for a fade, got a high and tight. WTH

Do they have a chart/number system at your barber shop? Use that next time.

Ran over a sprinkler head that was hidden in tall grass with the mower. Gnarled plastic and angry dad everywhere.

My sister left for her dorm...won't being seeing her for another few months...:(

No, but the two guys are really good. There is one really old guy whose been there forever, and most people avoid, lol. I was kinda in a hurry, so I got stuck with the old guy, usually he does a good fade, IDK why he gave me a high and tight. Oh well.

I went to watch a local high school football game last night, and this kid got injured during the second quarter. Two guys nailed him pretty hard and his helmet popped off. He got up and wobbled to the sidelines before collapsing and laid on the bench the rest of the game. Towards the very end of the fourth quarter the ambulance, firetrucks, and all those people finally showed up (shouldn't they have been on standby or something?!) and this morning the kid was pronounced dead. He was only a sophomore.

I've seen lots of kids get hurt at the games being an ex-marching band member, but I've never heard of anyone dying.

. .. .. .. ., that's some heavy stuff. As a 4-year pep band member (we don't march or have uniforms or anything), I've seen more than a few concussions and broken bones but nothing quite like this. I guess they figured if he was well enough to walk himself over to the bench he would've lived. :shake: Well I'm very sorry this happened.

Just goes to show you, you can never be too careful.

I can somewhat relate. ;)

Man, after hearing about that kid who died I feel like my little problems and annoyances are so insignificant. :(
