Alternatively, leave it in your bank account or on your person at all times.

Nah. Bag's no good. She'll sneak into it while you sleep. Socks. And don't tell her.

She got access to my bank account. She demanded I give that to her.

Well, that was silly of you then. I wouldn't operate a joint account, even with a loving spouse.

Still, keep the key on yourself… a chain/string around your neck?

Empty the bank account - or leave a nominal amount in it. Get another one. Report her for harassment.

Box clever.

Its not a joint account. She demanded I give her the bank card and pin. I changed the pin and she got mad and threatened me. If I closed the account and reopened it she would do the same thing.

Get a voice recording of her threatening you. Take it to the police.

What your mother is doing is probably illegal, especially the physical violence thing.

Except the threatening is to sell my computer, which .... legally belongs to her. Shes gotten smarter within the last few years.

And away from your mother. I repeat, this is very important: AWAY FROM YOUR MOTHER.

Guys, whilst I appreciate your good intentions you are forgetting the rules when it comes to discussing other peoples mums. When faced with someone ranting about their own mum, it's ok to express sympathy, nod in agreement etc. But one can never take the reigns and start having a go at said mum as well. It generally goes down like a lead balloon.

Speaking for myself, I'm just following the logic from the given premise. To do otherwise is senseless.

If the initial premise is incorrect, that's not something you can hold me to account over. To be blunt (not james blunt, again).

Yes this is true, however I'm just saying that we don't actually get to suggest that others report their mums to the police or report them for harassment. We just get to nod and say "there there"

You just bundle it all up inside and preferably unleash your frustrations on James Blunt, for whom the exact opposite of the above rule applies. Open slather on Blunt says I.

With all due respect, I still don't agree. If someone is being openly threatened (and with no other information, one must suppose physically) the very thing one should recommend is reporting them to the police. Actually, given a competent adult, the first thing they should do is vacate the house. I've heard too much about domestic violence to feel comfortable with just a "there, there".

But apparently the threat was to sell a piece of equipment that the party of the second part had legal ownership to, anyway. So this is a substantial game changer.

*sigh*

Maybe you could pick a fake key, one that looks like the true one but is not, so if she tries to do it again she won't be able to open it and she may think she just couldn't do it.
