Random Rants XLIV: I Can't Find The Answer

Got an email about one of my courses for the coming semester, telling me that an extra three hour lecture has been scheduled for one Saturday. Because apparently 2 lectures a week isn't enough.

I have that every summer, you get used to it.

Though you also have cold weather every summer.

Yay, just failed my driving test.

You're not alone, I've failed my driver's test years ago. Granted it was taken after a major snowstorm. But I took it again a couple of months later and passed. Im sure whatever DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles or the equivalent in your country) you have would let you take it again.

Well of course itll let me. But I will burn at least 100 euros more in classes to keep it fresh.

Think of it this way -- You failed for a reason. It meant you weren't ready to be on the road with other human beings. What if the instructor had passed you out of sympathy and you got into an accident? The extra classes will help in fixing these problems, since IIRC, the instructor tells you where you screwed up. :)

You're still 19, so it's not too bad. I know the feeling that you wish you could drive. I'm 18 and can't drive, and won't be able to drive for at least two more years because it costs so much damn money, and it's every day that I wish I could. On the other hand, it's wise to know that we are still teenagers by age. Still a whole lot of living to do and the things you want to do in a car can be done for many more years to come.

Driving is overrated. Just now on my way to work some idiot erratically switched lanes without signaling or checking to see if anyone was on the lane he was trying to switch to. It just so happened I was on that lane and fortunately there was no one behind me so I could brake abruptly and shout curses while honking at his dumb ass.

And don't get me started on car insurance, gas prices, tolls, traffic jams, driving in Manhattan, Mass holes (Massachusetts drivers), New York drivers, taxi drivers, Asians and women. Ugh. It's enough to turn a man off driving forever. Public transport is so much better.

Is driving really that necessary in Catalonia? I live in America, where the whole damn country is tailor-made for cars, so it doesn't help that I hate driving.

I slept at 5am today, and woke up at 10am feeling really nauseous. I would end up staying in bed until 4pm constantly falling asleep and waking up in my bed (I got up once to go to the toilet at about midday, and found I have diarrhoea now as well), and a few small movements (such as changing the side of the bed I was sleeping on) made me a lot more nauseous, so I was forced to stay on the same side of the bed, and still feeling like crap until 4pm. :yuck:

However

Have a bucket nearby. A plastic bag won't do the job. I found that out the hard way last week.

I'm not yet 19. That's on Tuesday.

Remember those strange posts I did like a month ago? Well reread them, I feel just like that now.

Double/Treble?

You know, I've been thinking about those who complain that the AI is psychotic in Civ V, and I'm left wondering why there's no complaints about earlier games. Just yesterday, someone declared Vendetta. At the start of the game. Upon first contact. With both sides having only their starting city. And I picked all the peaceful factions. And a previous game had someone being friendly and trading maps, then declaring Vendetta in the next screen after said trades. Say what you will about Civ V diplomacy, but at least the AI there doesn't change personalities in the middle of a conference.

the Ai is a complete crapshoot in *all* games, Mr. intercontinental missile.
Double/Treble?
Two (or three) trophies in one season?

Bah, Hexable or bust.

A bust is always interesting. Hence the Babes thread.
