I know

they used to even throw a dinner for qualified seniors in the fall and I don't think that will happen this year (it used to be in the old "year in review" as a social event/department outreach, then stopped being in that).

I want a free dinner!

edit: but I don't think I've ever gotten a department email about these things, and the department has a picnic every so often [free food/tshirt], some socials, etc. This was some "125" year event (even though it was founded 1885, I think since it's "family" weeked for gatech it's probably 125th mech E family weekend), so hypothetically is pretty large.

why have these social events and not tell anyone they exist.

we're lumped into the mech E school (dunno how administratively it works out since the nre department does act entirely independently; probably the small details like how to formally hire a faculty, tenure, etc)

I get the best of both worlds in taking the mech E's free stuff, AND having mech E's fail their thermo/fluids/heat transfer tests so I can pass yet not know what I myself am doing.

edit: wait, you have ME and AE together so not too much of a difference, but granted ME and NRE closer together than ME and AE.

I thought I was part of this group of friends. Tonight I realized that they don't really care about me. Well, screw you too.
I'm slowly losing hope about my ability to make friends here. I'm not sure what's happening. People seemed to really like me at the beginning of the semester, and now I feel like I'm getting brushed aside, like there's stuff always happening that I just don't know about that I would love to be a part of...people are always texting each other, they never text me...I'm just not that important to them. Well, have fun. I'm not changing who I am just to please you.

I'm considering going hermit style for a week, just to see if anyone notices or cares.
