RANDOM RANTS XXXI: I hate my job

I'm starting to regret earning my two older degrees. If given a choice, I would start all over again in a different major.

EH? So, your reasoning is that, as you might make a wrong choice, you'd better do nothing? Doing nothing is also a bad choice. :wallbash:

better do nothing when you don't have a defined dream of what you want to be.

So do something to try to figure out what you want to be. If it isn't whatt you want to be, oh well, at least now you know, and you're not just sitting around being a bum.

i don't understand. if you cannot decide weather to be a politician, nurse, doctor, lawer, or any in between isn't it wise to not waste your time and money doing additional schooling that may be wasted?

You don't strike me as being someone with particularly good interpersonal skills, so I highly doubt you'll be able to get a decent job without any real qualifications. Plus, completing a degree of some sort allows you to earn a lot more money than without one, so at least you're earning a decent wage for something you hate doing.

correct on all counts. but i really don't want to work where i hate. it would be very draining to me. i prefer to work where i love to work. i can go to uni or equivalent and get some sort of general degree if there is one. i forgot what its called though.

The point is, if you don't go to uni, you'll probably end up in a job you hate for not much money. If you earn enough money, you can go back to uni when you're older, and get another degree in something you enjoy if/when you eventually figure out what you want to do.

If you don't go to uni you'll almost certainly have a crap job.

It slightly raises your chances if you go.

sightly? im not spending thousands to slightly increase my chances of getting a satisfactory job.

I've still not heard where I'm based and the waiting game is ridiculously painful.

Pssssh, 'something' isn't entirely necessary. I did absolutely nothing for six months last year, and it was great!
No, you were travelling, and you'd saved up , you had a job, etc. Mathalamus proposes to sit on his bum until he makes up his mind.
