Good luck you. Partnership in Bridge can turn to partnership in other things :) wink.
Just ask Ewan MacGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

This is a sore point for me, with my "wonderful" brother-in-law screwing things up .. doesn't belong in Raves though lol.
Ah, I guess I must have overlooked (or forgotten about) that Rant. Apologies for touching a nerve.

But with or without pics, I'm 100% sure you looked amazing.

The rave that cats can have little a salami.unless they can't. Then they not the salami. My cat sits by my feet.

Great Canadian award?
What Contest? Prettiest cat?
Thanks, guys.

Nothing so spectacular, I'm afraid. It's not glamorous or pricey, just practical. But it's still nice to win something.

The grocery store I mentioned in a recent post - the one where I do most of my shopping - is running its annual contest for a variety of prizes, ranging from merchandise, to gas or groceries for a year, to $100K.

I bought groceries yesterday and was going through my game tickets and noticed that one is an instant winner... so I now have a prize claim to make for one 710 mL bottle of water.

Water is practical and useful if you need it and don't have it. :yup:

Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Water won is ten times more refreshing than water purchased. Relish every drop, I say.

Went to a rather good concert yesterday evening: Speak to Me, a German Pink Floyd tribute band doing songs from circa Dark Side of the Moon up to The Division Bell. Generally tight performances all round from all the musicians, and a pretty good light show to go with it.

Lead vocalist wasn't bad, though he didn't quite have the range he needed for some of the numbers (it didn't help that his mic cut out a couple of times, either). But when the female (backing) vocalist stepped forward for The Great Gig In The Sky, she absolutely nailed it. Got herself a standing ovation, well deserved.

No problem. My favorite Dune character has always been Duncan Idaho, and when the TV miniseries came along, I came to really like that version of Princess Irulan.

Did you read Hunters/Sandworms of Dune?

My favorite Dune character is a sandworm.
You might enjoy this:

The singer is Julia Ecklar, from her "Horsetamer" filk album. She's one of the most prolific filk singers, and has composed and performed over the course of several decades. I've posted another of her performances before ("Hope Eyrie" - written by Leslie Fish; it's a song about the Apollo program), and I have a cassette tape of Dorsai filk songs; her rendition of "Michael's Song" and a couple of others just make me cry (they're sad songs about good characters).

Julia Ecklar is also a pro novelist. She has several Original Series Star Trek novels to her credit, as well as others.

I did.
