Random Thoughts XV: Temere Cogito, Ergo . . .

Maybe one is the body double for the other.

The Syfy channel is running a movie titled "Tag" and then the next movie up is "Twister."

Because tag is a game (I don't know if the movie is about a game of tag), and because there is also a game called Twister, as I was reading across the schedule line-up, I thought to myself, "they made a movie about (the game) Twister?" temporarily forgetting the movie that I know full well, about tornados.

:crazyeye:

Sea-lioning is a subset of concern trolling. Basically it is a hyperbolic focus on evidence, even in typically informal or otherwise not-evidence-based discussion.
It takes its very web-slang-friendly name from likeness to the attitude of the eponymous (and annoying) character in a comic strip.

So I've seen this meme from time to time, had to look it up, called the :

something always bugged me as it looks strikingly similar to the poster for Fitzcarraldo:

First link above goes nowhere.

You should photoshop him in to the meme.

Although what it would make the meme mean is hard to say, since I don't think the film is very well known.

Sulfur-crested cockatoos in Sydney have mastered the ability to operate drinking fountains, using their feet and beaks to twist handles and sip water.

Researchers observed the birds with remote cameras, capturing over 500 attempts in 44 days with about 70% of the local flock trying the technique.
Experts say the cockatoos’ social learning and curiosity allow them to thrive in urban environments. Image: Klump et al./ Biology Letters Dist. by: Andrews McMeel Syndication ©MMXXV Earth Environment Service
Scientists believe the cockatoos learned the skill by watching people and each other, turning the activity into both social and playful behaviors.

This fountain-opening skill follows a previous urban innovation by the same birds — lifting garbage bin lids.
