I don't care about reddit gold, but I do care that someone liked something I made enough to gild my comment. Feelsgoodman.jpg

Same, what feels weird about it is that I've gotten gilded a few times and most of the ones I've gotten haven't even been for posts that were all that good, they were for like, silly one-liner bad puns or cultural references that someone really liked.

I've never even figured out what reddit gold even does. Aside from give you a shiny icon on your post.

You get a shiny icon, you get a few bonus features (the only one I found interesting at all was the one highlighting new posts if you go back to a thread you've seen before), and you get access to r/lounge, the secret bonus subreddit for gold members. From what I remember the few times I've had gold, it was pretty lame, tbh.

Payday approaching. Relatively good, though some bs tax law by the former government (soon to be cancelled; declared unconstitutional) takes away a couple hundred euros :/
Still, won't be there in the next payday.

I have a Reddit post with 33.7k karma and over 2000 comments. Platinum'd twice, gilded twice, and then silvered seven times. It's ranked 9th all-time in a sub with 1.2 million subscribers, though when it was posted a year ago it was at #2 and made it to the top of /r/all for a day or so.

Which is all to say that it was a nice novelty, the attention, for maybe 2 or 3 days. A strong "Oh dear this has gotten out of hand" sense. Now it's just annoying as I still have people private-messaging me every single week about it. The coins were never useful. I use Reddit Enhancement Suite, and it already does all the premium things I could want from Reddit... for free.

Not only that. But research has shown that they can pass on knowledge of someone whom have wronged them, to another generation. Even if that generation never met the original wrong doer. Crows are awesome. I wish I was a crow.

I saw a documentary on crows recently and this researcher once put on a mask and went about pissing off crows. Every few months he puts on the mask and walks around the college campus and he still gets a bad reaction from the crows but he has never tried to antagonize them since the first time. It's been over 10 years since he pissed them off....lol @Synsensa is screwed

My sister told me about that documentary recently. Sound pretty interesting. Where is this documentary?

That doesn't sound too exceptional on the face of it. Isn't it likely that the newer generation of crows are just learning by example? Looks like crows can live 10 years anyway.

Oh, the situation resolved itself. The crows in this neighbourhood at the end of 2018 had a war with the seagulls from a few blocks over and lost. Crow count went from something like 30 crows to less than 10. They're a lot more chill now that they've been humbled.

I also fed them pizza a whole lot, which I'm sure helped.

It's been interesting to see just how territorial crows are. At least the crop here. Since they got their asses kicked, other birds have been living here every day. At their height, it was crows and crows only. Everything else would be swarmed and chased off. Now there are those tiny finches, woodpeckers, blackbirds, etc.

Rave: I just updated my location details ! xD
