Poul Anderson used this setting for some of his Time Patrol stories, so if you can track down any of those books (most of the stories are collected in anthology form), you're in for a treat.

I've read some of them, I particularly enjoyed Delenda Est and The Sorrow of Odin the Goth.

For some reason I've never been able to get into The Sorrow of Odin the Goth, but I've read Delenda Est at least a dozen times over the years, along with the rest of the stories in the Time Patrol anthology and The Shield of Time (the latter is more of a novel than an anthology and features Wanda Tamberly, a character introduced in The Year of the Ransom). Delenda Est has been reprinted in numerous other science fiction anthologies dealing with time travel.
