Random Thoughts 3: A Little Bit of This, and a Little Bit of That...

No, no it wasn't. It's much more convenient now. Twitbook and Google have become malevolent Demon Lords, but even they can be useful if you're careful enough when you summon them.
I was thinking more along the lines of all the little personal web sites(Lost Temple of Ishida: best digimon fansite ever!). Harder to find stuff but, it didn't feel so.....commercial.....

Ah, and we felt smarter when we found something good.
I get it. Like older RPGs made you think and NPCs gave you proper directions or described places, and now we just get lazy quest markers that magically appear.

If you find a few you like and ask Petek to install one of them, he might. It would be helpful to explain why it's needed (I'm not disagreeing with you, just mentioning what I did to convince him to install the  and :grouphug: smileys).
Just the thought of having to explain why we need a facepalm smiley makes me want to facepalm. But I know where I can find a couple good ones that will go with CFC's yellow smiley style, at least.
For all the perceived harshness and the nearly limitless flexibility of compund words, German is actually a rather boring language for insults.
Just wait until I get my hands on it.
Have you completely forgotten UGO ads? :p
And dial-up modems. Never forget.

Yeap, and there was no YouTube so if you wanted all 100 little statues you had to get a .gif map of Vice City and ride your helicopter yourself rather than watch somebody do it on YouTube and rob you of the pleasure of finding them.

Does CFC count as a social medium? 'cos you promised to teach me insults if I started learning German.

Define social media.
Twitter ? Bad !
Facebook ? Bad !
Youtube ? Couple of issues, but I think it's pretty good on balance.

There are probably many definitions for Social Media, but the way I used the word when I thought about whether Social Media is a good thing is basically anything that allows users to create content and asks users to share content created by others within its own system. So a forum would not be social media as that second element is missing, and youtube would not be either.

We have a downloads database, a gallery and a multiquote function, Ryika-san.

For better or worse, Donald Trump is becoming a far more transformative president than many of his critics like to acknowledge. Democrats become foreign-policy hawks when the topic turns to Russia. And they morph into states’ rights activists when they want to shield illegal immigrants from deportation.

Meanwhile, conservative Never Trumpers who have spent entire careers advocating for deregulation, lower taxes, judicial restraint and colorblind public policies have abandoned those principles to make common cause with liberals and their media allies.
 The hottest of takes!

Career WAR at age 26:

Mike Trout: 62*
Rogers Hornsby: 56.9
Alex Rodriguez: 55.2
Tris Speaker: 48.6
Hank Aaron: 46.7
Eddie Collins: 46
Babe Ruth: 44
Barry Bonds: 41.3
Willie Mays: 40.9
Stan Musial: 37.7
Ted Williams 34.2**
Honus Wagner: 17.1

* And his "age 26 season" ain't over yet.
** This was Williams through age 23. He lost 3 years to WWII and returned to the majors at age 27. He would've had a chance at 60+ WAR by age 26 if he'd played those 3 seasons.

Dangit I thought I could keep the WAR debate contained to Twitter. Silly me.

Not too long ago, I thought crying oneself to sleep is the most normal thing in the world. When I first moved in with my friend, I realized that it is not, because it irritated him and apparently made him think that I don't want to live with him. Weird to think about that, I mean, you can be perfectly happy in your life yet still cry at the end of the day, and people think you feel bad when you actually don't. Not entirely sure why I stopped crying, but I think it's out of courtesy. Wouldn't want him to think I'm unhappy when I'm not. It's funny how that works, different types of crying. Sometimes you just can't hold it, and then other times you don't even know why you even feel like crying, but then it's also not difficult to just not cry, huh.

Crying feels good

....errr....that must be a very subective thing.

For me (and I guess for most people) it mainly feels good when it's over.
And the reason is half of the time bad (at least I hope that many people also cry for laughter), so not really something good

But that's because you cry as a result of a bad thing that happened for example. Just crying without a real, direct reason, is emotional relief that comes at no cost and just feels good.
