This in particular has to do with a brand called Gillette and a model called Mach3 or Mach3 Turbo.

Has anyone noticed the price on these bad boys lately? I just paid $15.49 for a package of 8 Mach3 Turbo blades. The non-turbo Mach3 blades weren't much better, costing $13.49. Now I will admit these are the best razor blades I have ever used before, and I don't know if I could ever go back to someting "lesser" but to spend this much on shaving?!?! I don't even like shaving! God thing I am out of the Army now because when I was in I would go through 1 blade in 3 days. 5 days if I wanted to push it and be economical, but it started to hurt then. That means I would use 1 package of these a month. I would be spending about 15$ a month on razors alone. I think it costs les than that to feed a starving child in Kersplakinova, according to those tear jerking TV adverts. Now that I am out I shave about 1 to 2 tmes a week because I am cheap and because I work night shift and hardly anyone looks at my ugly mug anyways.

I am buying these razors at WalMart which is about as cheap as you can get without going to Sam's Club...which I might start doing for these darn things. I could probably get a 500 pack there for a reasonable $200! That would save me $67 of the WalMart price. ;)

How many times to do you use the one time razor? And what does it cost to buy them?

I have an electric one. It is much handier and cheaper in the long run.

Do you get cuts and nicks?
I used disposable razors at one point but I would get cut up every time I used them and they didn't do a good job shaving after the first time using them. The Gillettes', while being super expensive, are the best for shaving as if I keep it to 3 times they don't cut or nick me, or rarely, and they shave good with minimum effort.

I got a cheapo electric razor one time and I kept that on the car for days when I was running late but it didn't do as great a job as a razor and it was irrating to the face. I heard that it can take a few weeks for your face to get used to it. I would like to change to an electric shaver but the $50-$70 price tag makes that an unsure prospect.

I switched from razorblades to electric for two reasons: the cost of those blades and the blades irritated my skin and an electric razor doesn't. Back on topic, I think we all should go out to buy Gilette stocks because they must make huge profits. ;)

The one I have got cost me £50 and it was worth it. It is very fast and easy to use. It does take a little time to get used to and it can e a little irritating but I think it is worth the discomfort. I think it is better to spend a little extra to get a good one than by a cheap, useless one. I used to have a cheap one and it was awful but the one I have now is seving me well.

I switched from Gilette Mach 3 to an electric about a year ago, and I haven't regretted it. Of course, I splurged and got the expensive $140 top-of-the-line Norelco, but it has been doing an excellent job. It does take about 3 weeks for your face to get used to the electric vs the blade, though.

Yeah, me to. After alot of use they do get a bit crappy though, i'm thinking it's time for me to get another one. And if your stupid like me:Dand forget to shave for a few days then it stings real nasty like when you do!

I use those Bic disposeables, you get 4 or 5 shaves from each, and they are cheap.

I sometimes get cuts, but it sure beats the straight razor I used to use.

Yeah, those cheap razor blades are good. I get ten to a pack for a couple bucks too.

PaleHorse...dump that Mach 3 crap :p

I shall have to ask the servant what type of razor blades they use to shave me.

Mach 3 is the best around, but they are pricey...

At least Horse isn't making what he made in the army now though, otherwise he would be broke like me due to razor buying...

The disposables hurt waaaayyy too much for me though, so I guess I have to stick to the pricey ones...

I had a rant concerning Mach 3 in the "things that RUIN your day" thread, but feel my anger and lust for ranting have not been quenched yet.

First of all I can't even FIND mach 3 blades at the moment, and have being using the same blade (it's my last one) for 14 days now. (Fortunatly I also have an electric).

Did Gillette release a new mach 3 called "cool blue" (it's the exact same razor, just a different colour) in anyone else's country? I think this is the reason for not being able to buy any blades.
The cool blue is available in all the shops I go to with of course the blades attached to the back. But the packets of blades are nowhere ot be seen. In order to get new blades I'll have to buy a new razor?

By the by, I think the best way to sahve is to use the electric, followed by the wet shave.

I don't know why but the combination works better then the individual ways.

Stop wasting your money on the Mach 3. Just stick with the standard double bladed disposables. Sure you may have to shave twice over every area, but it's only paying half of what you're paying now.
