I can give it a try, although you do know that RL is more important ;). AW has always been my thing for I adore destroying :p
 
too bad about the loss of Bad-Tibiria. The location made a loss always a possibility. I don't think there is anything you could do. The loss of workers however at this stage is more painful.

Yeah, I think I spent more time moving the workers to safety than doing actual work so it was almost inevitable that I would miss one eventually, especially once the horses turned up. It was particularly annoying to complete the road to Bad-tibiria just before it fell.
 
Rodent, my request is that you post if you are busy and cannot play. It is fine to need to take a break for RL but please tell us that you need to. That way we can skip you without waiting 3 days to see if you are around.

Basically, a minute of your time even when busy can really save us lots of time waiting. That's the important part as skips or swaps are fine.

We all can be busy at times, that's pretty much understood but as long as we let the team know as Greebley pointed out, we should be fine.

the situation doesn't look too promising at this point in time I have to admit

move out a cheaper EW to cover the sword

IT the outcome is ideal as one horse is retreated and the other dies to our promoted sword
nobody gets the GL

1. 330BC
defeat the redlined horse
kill a sword at Sumer and get a MGL
decide to rush the HE in Agade as it just finished its production and we can always use the culture expansion there
defeat the Russian settler pair for 2 slaves

IT we nab the GLib :dance:

2. 310BC
kill a Russian archer intruder
take out German settler pair for 2 slaves, take out a sword at Sumer

IT defeat German archer on defense, Russian intrude our land with a horse, this is real dangerous
the Glib gives us mysticism, philo, CoL, MM , poly, monarchy and construction
I do not revolt yet as we got too few cities and too many enemies

3. 290BC
advance our army towards Berlin, leave the slaves alone as they will be recollected later on
take out German archer and a stack of three Egyptian units

IT the Germans retreat predictably to catch the slaves
Russia comes again from Bad Tibiria with an archer and horse that catches 2 cats

4. 270BC
eliminate the 2 Russian units almost losing our elite sword
get the cats back
take out a first spear in Berlin

IT movement only

5. 250BC
take out 2 Russian spear including one that covered a settler
take out 2 more spears in Berlin, but it is not enough

IT Aztecs have founded a city in our hinterland
Germany moves all their archers forward and Russia intrudes yet again with an archer
bad news as Egypt finishes the GW

6. 230BC
found Erech next to a Volcano, we need to expand north again and we got to risk this
defeat an Egyptian archer
finally manage to take the German capital

IT Lagash is attacked by a Russian horse but defeats it...we need to get back that city that used to be ours

7. 210BC
defeat redlined Russian archer and advance 2 swords towards bad tibiria
Berlin is threatened by 2 archers but should hold

IT we defeat 2 units on defense and Berlin holds

8. 190BC
2 Cvis know currency and we will be catapulted into the MA
defeat a Russian horse and move 3 of them next to Bad tibiria
take out 2 swords next to Sumer
defeat an archer at Berlin so our 4 slaves can move back to our land

IT we enter the MA and get feudalism as our freebie :dance:

9. 170BC
upgrade a *sword to a mace
defeat 1 Aztec warrior and lose vet sword against the second :(
defeat horse and archer and Bad Tibiria is ours again
defeat Arab archer

IT Germans lose 2 archers at Berlin

10. 1250AD
take out a Russian archer at Bad Tibiria
remove 2 archers at Berlin
take out 2 more units and get a MGL for a mace army that is :dance:
fill it with our first mace

leave it in our capital, we need to add 2 more maces and then expand
I am sure the next turn we can move our sword army out of Berlin and take out the other German
cities. We do have a settler which will connect our land to Germany
Of course we need more settlers

Well, your turns were better then mine Rat :D

Nice to get the HE and another army, that should make life a bit easier. It is amazing how much difference 10 turns make to your feeling on how a game is going.

Rodent, as much as I dislike it, but you came in to the team via a special request and stall my game. It's not something that is very nice. We told you to tell us if you can't make it. Thus, maybe you can join the next game when you can stick to 24/48.

I had already started from 150 BC so I continued rather than a restart with Rodents moves. Sorry rodent

Preturn: Looks good. Upgraded a few key Swordsmen - our Army will be full next turn.

IBT: Arab units heading toward German lands.

130 BC: Sword kills Archer next to town. Kill a Spear in Hamburg. Kill Warrior on Mountain.
Up north, I am putting units between the towns so they can go either way to attack.
I think I will wait 2 turns for units to complete and then make the govt switch.
Bad-Tibira whips walls since everyone seem moving that way - It costs us our Taxman.

IBT: An Archer exits Hamburg that I need to deal with. An Egyptian Sword and 2 Archer next to our town up North.

110 BC: Army does terrible vs the Archer from Hamburg and retreats to heal. To make up for that, we get a Leader from attack an Egyptian Archer. The Archer was on top because the Catapult missed. A bummer as I wanted to kill the sword. Kill Arab Spear.

With the leader we really want 2 more towns. I think I can get them from Germany but decide that Lagash Barracks can wait and will get a Settler so I only need a single town. MDI Army is next to Munich

I realize we have no Horsemen to kill a unit and get back into town. I switch Ur to one. I also upgrade 2 Enkidu because we will be in Anarchy for a while and we have no Pike yet.

90 BC: Decide to let Munich grow and try going after Heidelburg which is size 2.
Decide to go for Anarchy. It is only 4 turns!! That seems quite reasonable. It looks like Agade is the only town that needs to intentionally go into disorder to not shrink.

70 BC: Lose MDI vs a 2 hp Warrior

IBT: Argh! Both size 2 German towns are now size 1.

50 BC: Will wait for Hamburg to expand, but may just destroy Heidelburg.

IBT: Hamburg Border expands.

30 BC: We got a lot of annoying Spear around and not enough cats to deal with them. I kill the Egyptian Swords.

IBT: We become a Monarchy!!! Agade starves despite my efforts due to the Spears stepping on all our good squares.

10 BC: Bombard and Kill annoying Spears. Also capture two Settlers. Egypt gave us a turn with no units near us.

IBT: Egypt moves oddly

10 AD: Finally Capture Hamburg and build 3rd Army. Other Army next to Heidelburg. One HP Spear kills a MDI.

IBT: Egypt is again approaching us.

30 AD: Destroy Heidelburg. Munich is now the Capitol (and only German city) and size 2.

50 AD: Southern Armies are starting North. Kill another Settler and Cover unit with Enkidu (on mountain).

Notes:
We seem a bit thin on units but unit expenses are high. I set some towns to Aquaducts so they can grow larger and get more support and bigger towns - aquaducts are 1/2 price for us. We may need Markets when the front line is shorter.
We should work to shortening our front lines. I would go for Munich with the Army even if it autodestroys. We got Pyramids and lots of food so can replace towns.
I don't think that the Archers will attack our back door Enkidu that they are next to. They bypassed it once already.
Berlin rioting is my fault - a last minute unit move without adjusting happiness.
Ur now has 15 shields and can build 2 turn Horsemen (or Pike) though we may need more MDI.
I would use next leader for Pentagon.

Yep, getting rid of Germany has made life easier. Interestingly they had worse land them we did :lol:
