Egyptian and Aztec units retreated from Sumer when there was no way through. They would rather trek around the large inland sea than attack our fortified position. To that end, we should keep the blockade up.
Workers: Add one native and one foreign worker to the large stack clearing damage to complete the task a turn sooner and without wasting worker turns. (14+17+17=48)
Things are looking good from the sounds of it. Of course Mongols would pose a threat when their initial onslaught comes at us.

Finished this turn-set, everything seems good, I think we are nearly ready to break out of our box. Found the short front, it's 5 turns wide, 3 being mountains, with Pikes nearly in place. A picture:

P.S. AFAIK, there are no fortified artillery, and the only fortified Swords/Maces are healing or MPs. I can't guarantee perfect MM, that is not my forte.

I am thinking we should start to be prepared for our own research and inititate some infrstructure builds. Our core should be able to build some markets and libraries.
Yeah I was wondering what to do with all those towns building trebuchets. I changed them to Barracks, but that was a filler build.
Ya great job - we are doing well. I definitely like the Pikemen in the mountain to force the units to come through the gap on clear terrain.
Agree with ThERat. This is an excellent time to build infrastructure - libraries and markets. We have a short front and have sufficient units. I think I would make the major cities get Libraries and Markets, and get Aqueducts in any city that doesn't yet have one.
Inherited turn: Looks good, swap some of the barracks and unit builds to libraries in anticipation of TGL becoming obsolete, hey we are scientific, that makes life a bit easier. I suspect we might need some courthouses soon as well. I left the former German lands on units, when they have been improved then we can get some infrastructure in there.
We are currently 27 units over our support limit, average to Egypt and Mongolia and stron vs everyone else.
We are going to want the FP soon, anyone have a good idea where?

There are 2 Aztec galleys near Isin, as far as I am aware they haven't dropped anything off yet, the last landing was on the ruins next to Isin. I have left some units with movement so you can decide where to put the defence.
The only land unit in our borders is the Russian archer that killed out MDI. I had marched that MDI all the way through the jungles from Agade and the first thing it did was to die Also there is a settler on its way, building near one or both of the cows might be nice but I had come to no firm conclusion where it should go.
The Aztecs had been sending archers against Sumer all my turn set, then they all turned round and disappeared.
I think we may need a few more units in coastal towns farther away. A bigger landing could lose us more than one town.
Better roads far south might help too. Looks like we are going to want extra workers this game.
I feel the same way. It makes me a bit uneasy seeing all the empty towns down south. This will attract AI landings for sure.

Well, there are 3 new ones waiting under an army to the north . I agree we need more units down there and I did send a few, however with the infra builds I didn't have too many to spare, I am have gone a bit overboard with the infra builds. I was also going to send the sword army in that direction.
To be honest I wasn't sure what to do with those towns, which is why the worker force is clearing jungle further north. If there was some water then we could irrigate the grassland and mine the hills.

590 AD: Driving back AI. Large Egyptian stack bombarded and killed.
600 AD: Build Tubtub and Kutallu.
Was a bit tired when playing and a bit rushed. Check out our cities, just to be sure.

I'm three turns in and now have a MGL, but it will be a few more turns before our first knights are trained. Rushing FP seems like an attractive option at this time. Do we want it in Bad-Tibira, or perhaps somewhere in the recently-conquered north?
