Actually, it doesn't work as well in RoM as it does in the modmod for it, A New Dawn. Fighting a defensive war in AND gives defenders:

-Archery units that can bombard
-Siege weapons with ranged bombard+collateral damage from it
-Option for units per tile leading to chokepoints and combined with forts and units with ranged attacks, can lead to a long frontline and long drawn out wars.
-Tundras and deserts have terrain damage which, without a certain promotion, does damage if outside cultural borders and a road.
-Unhappiness and unhealthiness are bigger factors in Revolutions. Which means mass drafting is a major problem if done too often
-Attack Support. Say that you have a stack with 3 swordsmen and a catapult. When one swordsman attacks another unit, the catapult uses ranged bombard and does some damage. Archery units use this ability as well which greatly increases the use of longbows.

I'm thinking about modifying the Revolution config in AND to make war weariness something major to deal with. As of now, it takes a lot.

I don't have AND but in RoM I still have:

Rise of Mankind. The features there listed are actually from RevolutionDCM, which is basically the mod RoM is based around (but Zap added moar features, and Afforess (in the RoM Modmod A New Dawn, or AND) even more).

As for being opposition leader, as arya said, I'm not particularly inclined to take that post. A) I'm just the temporary LMP leader, and B) I'm not really opposed to Unity (or at least not its component parts. I am opposed to a monopolitical bloc). I'm neutral. Depending on events during the term, I may or may not become opposed to it.

Um...no. Just because LMP doesnt recieve any votes, doesnt mean they arent part of the opposition. Show me the rule that says that. And mech could still vote for his own party if he really wanted to. I guess he doesnt see a point. And i voted for LMP as well.

I did. Ask nuke, aysee and whosit about it. They will all say i PMed them to show them the plan, and they all could have offered suggestions. Whosit offered many, and i used most of them (i still think some of them werent that good, but thats over with), while aysee and nuke didnt have much to say on the plans.

I posted my plans on the thread as well, with the exception of the war plan. Then during whosits term i posted all three plans i made during my term on the thread so there was no mystery to them. As far as i know, no other president had done that before me, besides whosit and that was after me.

The best defensive troops, ironically, are siege weapons with their awesome stackbusting ability. Longbows, which overall should be a pretty powerful weapon, is a pathetic weapon along with all archery units on the offense which contradicts that they "ruled the battlefield for thousands of years".

In game they may be, but not in RL, which is what i am assuming you are refering to with the longbowmen. Longbowmen were actually some of the BEST defensive troops in europe, maybe the whole world, for several hundred years. But certainly not thousands. They would be that powerful for so long in the game either. But to give an example, longbowmen basicly owned knights in the hundred years war, and they were englands dominant weapons in that war and they were used very effectively there. I think that they should get an in-game bonus vs. knights for their multiple successes in RL, but its not important.

That sounded like a demand again. Maybe be more polite and you will get what you want. Anyway, thats MN's decision, and i think the reason that he wouldnt post all of it would be that some either concerns me, or will upset me, since there isnt much other reason unless someone in the admin would get upset at the plan, unlikely.

*sigh*, i have no evidence because i have cleared out my inbox many times since then. But if you wont take their word on it if they give it, then i doubt real hard(of soft evidence if you look at it that way) wouldnt persuade you anyway.

No I wasn't, I accepted you offer of me joining your coalition instead of MN on the condition that I would be a member of the administration. I accepted, then voted for your party and was announced economic minister. I was waiting for pm's from you as a member of adminsitration, got bored waiting so starting posting my thoughts in the forum instead, and then on the first turn set, I was given no power in the turn set. you didn't seek my advice, didn't do anything. I was just someone who got tricked into giving 3 votes to you (PCE got 2 votes that election). I know you think that now it wouldn't have made a difference in the election. But had you not come and offered me that spot in the administration, I would have joined MN and voted for him instead. My 3 votes would have gone to him and then the election would have been within reach for MN. All he would have needed was for his 3 lurkers to log on and vote and he would have been president and not to mention that WIM didn't vote, and Ravus remained unaligned that election. However he opted to close the election a day early because he knew that even with his lurkers, he wouldn't have won. I was the reason you became president, and how did you pay me back? shoving me into a corner and ignoring all my requests, going against the 3 promises you gave me right before the election. That was the reason I turned on you. I had nothing against you before that, if I did, I wouldn't have joined your coalition.


The reason I am against you as the opposition leader is because
1. You tried to sabotage Stonehenge
2. I still don't trust you from when you betrayed me
3. You threatened to start sabotaging if I became a member of the administration, and, as premier of England (area 1) I am a member of the administration.

On Opposition ala' Mechaerik
According to the precedents set in arya's term and Whosits term. If Mech wishes to stay in the shadows he will be neutral, technically a part of the opposition but able to obviously voice his own thoughts and oppose both sides (like i did in Arya's term) If he actually wanted to make a stand he could forge his own opposition in the future (Like Arya did in Whosit's term)

Personally i don't see the problem. Arya was saying a few pages ago how he wished for the oppurtunity to earn everyones trust back and that he would need a powerful position to do so. As opposition leader he has full freedom to show us what he meant.

Sorry, I meant archery in general. If anything, I thought longbowmen were English. The way they ripped up French Knights was insane. The problem in-game is that it doesn't reflect the fact that archery units were both great for offensives and defenses.
