What time zone?

I can do 2 PM, EST. 1:30 in a pinch.

If they're just screaming, that shouldn't be a major issue, but have the Military Police stand by to make sure that the Copperheads don't get out of hand. I do not want bloody reprisals this time.

Well, I could make the argument that keeping us down at all could make the game, if not unwinnable, then extremely difficult.

<snip>

Actually victory conditions, unless you want them to be, aren't really the point here. The point is to be on the top of the scoreboard as long as possible or to fulfil victory conditions we agree on. Basically, just have fun - this isn't going to end when 2050 rolls in anyway.

LH, I'm on the admin chat in case you haven't seen me.

It's time to make peace with the Romans. I think we've humbled them quite enough, and even secured our German allies a lasting presence along the Adriatic Coast: a place they can call home.

On a more OOC note, who are the Copperheads?

On a more OOC note, who are the Copperheads?

Domestic terrorists. I think. I'm a bit confused about the canon at this point.

But we don't like them.

The romans already surrendered.

The copperheads are a pro-Roman group who wished us to abandon the war entirely and adopt Roman ways.

I do not have much time right now, but here is a quick summary of negotiations.

Rome
*Roman cities become English
*Caesar granted manor in Setia, lives as private citizen
*We get no soldiers or tech from Rome
*Rome is governed by a Governor-General. An individual has been named, and I will PM him later today.

Vikings
*The demanded Cumae. I refused.
*They won't crush us today, but Ragnar is Furious.

Both negotiations turned out more or less how I imagined they would. I was planning to offer Caesar exile somewhere. Staying in Italy wasn't my original plan, but we really needed the war to end, so I agreed to that. All of his other terms were fine because I wasn't planning to ask for more, anyway.

The negotiations with Ragnar were much more contentious. The bullet-points sum that up fairly well. I thought things might end well when I offered a gift of Wines, but Ragnar wanted either Cumae (because of the Vikings that fought there) or, basically, Germany, or Italy. I was not prepared to give up any territory, or to turn our backs on the Germans. I was hoping to come out of this without making an enemy of the Vikings, but this simply means that we will have to keep our forces ready in case hostilities break out at a later date.

More Catapults. More Crossbowmen.

We're currently set for researching Divine Right, but I think we should actually check to see if anyone is willing to trade with us in the first place.

Converting the Vikings may be much harder now, but Ragnar did not say he was closing borders . . . unless he does now because I mentioned it here.

Unfortunate that Ragnar has evidently set himself against us. But we cannot allow ourselves to be pushed around.

We must delay plans to retake Ireland, and instead put troops on our border with Vikingdom, as well as in germany, as per the arrangement.

Negotiations seem to have gone very nicely with Rome, less so with Vikings but c'est la vie.

Can I enquire as to why we are researching Divine Right at this time?

Looks like military will have to be focused on the Viking front rather than anywhere else at the moment. I hope this puts paid to the jingoism regarding Ireland for a while.

Settle the Great General in the Heroic Epic city and start spamming Protective Longbows with as many City Garrison promotions as they can get, NOW! This is Ragnar we're talking about, he's furious and we share borders. He has powerful allies who also hate us and our military is crap right now. We need Longbows, lots and lots and lots and lots of Longbows.

Otherwise, very nice results with the negotiations.
