Well im not using quotes, and anyway you dont have enough posts to be half anyway. There are too many others. Although why we would gift the roman prize of germany to the state of germany is beyond my reasoning. Its just plain silly. 1. Why move the capital? Seriously? I HAVE ALREADY EXPLAINED that we would gain a minimal amount of gold. Even Ilduce has agreed that it would not be worth it. Seriously guys. London is the capital of england, and we wouldnt be england without it as capital. Its a damned 13 gold of coloniual fees, and we would only lose (at a guess) around 9 of that at the moment, and it would build back up again in the future because we plan to pursue land overseas. Then the distance that would change would yield us about 2-5 gold at a guess.
Its not that much. Courthouses would be a much better building to build, rather than waste hammers on a new palace.
2. NOBODY HAS GUNPOWDER YET. ILDUCE, STOP TRYING TO SCARE PEOPLE INTO DOING WHAT YOU WANT. There are much better techs to research before beelining gunpowder. Such as paper (which would solve the map problem, and it would eliminate the immediate need for a scouting unit) or divine right (which gives powerful and useful wonders for us to build, as well as trade bait).
3. Why the hell would we NOT BUILD LONGBOWMEN??? They are a hell of alot better than crossbowmen (whose only offensive role is taken by macemen, dont know why everyone wants them, as knights/macemen would be a better combo) and are the ideal defensive do-it-all unit for us right now. We can give some city garrison promos (2 each in border cities, 1 in each non-border city) and others hill promos (to position on key hills near the border and to base in forts).
4. MECH STOP CALLING FOR AN INVASION OF IRELAND. It will come, but its long term. MAY I REMOND EVERYONE THAT MN PROMISED ON EVERYONES BEHALF TO 2 TERMS PEACE DUE TO THE 'USE' OF RAVUS'S WAR PLAN? Ireland will come into our possesion in the future, but in THE FUTURE! We cant afford to attack right now.
5. On that note, stop all these future war plans. Keep them off the thread. Like i said, we promised 2 terms of peace. At least leave it until the future election where we are prepared to attack a nation while heavily defending our vikings border, as well as having a VERY STABLE economy.
6. GIVE THE CITIES TO GERMANY. We promised them medio, and i was under the impression we would give them italy as well. It makes perfect sense. If we dont let them expand, (bear in mind that they were mostly germans who died at the battle of medialanum) then what use will they be to us? No use at all. We need a USEFUL vassal, not just one that will sit there and look pretty.

8. Also to spec, he is furious because of the failed negotiations that whosit handled, as well as the fact that the vikings are basicly in bed with peter and russia. Russia hates us. So now Ragnar hatres us too. Its as logical as anyone can make it. Person 1 hates person 3. Person 2 has been best friends forever with person 1 since pre-k. person 1 and 3 get into a fight. person 2 sides with their BFF person 1.

Person 3: Us.
9. MN refer to the above in reguards to relations with Ragnbar failing. How do you expect Ragnar to be all nice and friendly with us?
10. MN as far as i know, no triremes have gone anywhere. I have no idea how the hell we got those 3 spare triremes in the first place. You were too busy builing buildings to do anything else, and any triremes we had were needed to defend our waters. Plus, we ARE AT WAR (or were). Why would we go exploring when it doesnt relate to the war effort?
11. Gifting units DOES NOT give a diplo bonus (at least it doesnt in warlords). Whoever brought it up-ARE YOU CRAZY?????????? Why the **** would we give ragnar ENGLISH/GERMAN soldiers to command? Thats like selling our military to them so we could pretend to cozy up to them.
But anyway, any diplo bonus would come from LH WBing it into the game, not as an actual game diplo bonus.

13. Ravus i do believe that i agreed with everything in the PM. Will PM you details this weekend i guess, but for now, my default answer is 'i agree'.
14. I support a domination victory, or maybe a diplo victory. If we could get plenty of vassals around the world, then im sure we could pull it off. By then the buddhist power bloc would probably have been defeated, and the hindu power bloc would have been either defeated or befriended. A vassal in each of the americas, the mongols, carthage, egypt, germany, autralia, the pacific, and asia, would certainly pull off a diplo.

because xbows are better defensively against melee than Longbows.
I already stopped. I decided it would be better to focus on defending against a probable Russo-Viking attack than reclaiming our territory. I still think it shouuld be done thouugh.
IMO, the cities are better in our hands, but whatever.
That would antagonize the hindu block, though. Much better just to provide incentives for Englishmen (likely to be Christian) to settle.
I still believe its better to deal with them via government action.

3) Longbowmen are not ideal because they are generally defensive-only units, whereas it is usually better to have offensive units, even when fighting a defensive war. Yes, we want some Longbowmen, but they should not comprise our whole army. Crossbowmen can be useful because they have a bonus vs. Melee units without being Melee themselves. Recall that Ragnar is Aggressive, so his Macemen/Berserkers are by default stronger than ours. Knights are strong, yes, but expensive, so it may be better to churn out some cheaper units as well.
5. We want to develop future war plans so we have some kind of plan in place when things go badly. Of course, right now, future war plans should assume that the Vikings declare war on us.
6. We gave Germany Mediolanum, but we are not going to give them Italy. I don't recall us promising that, and they did not ask for that. We'll make better use of those cities than they ever will. Plus, giving them to Germany will probably spawn some LH riot event.
17. Explain how the Copperheads are "your" issue. Last time you "dealt" with them, it blew up into a big fiasco that fortunately was retconned out of existence. They are planning a demonstration, but LH mentioned their movement may be on its last legs. The last thing we want to do is to create martyrs which inflames the movement once again. Nuke had a good idea to stage a counter-protest. Something that will hopefully be non-violent.

A while ago (beginning MN's term) someone pointed out that someone was researching Liberalism. Liberalism (normally) comes after gunpowder. I can guarantee that the tech leader has gunpowder at this time.
