MN, you are in trouble...

Seriously. MathNerd, after you've just posted a script which is supposed to let you edit pages, what makes you think that the screen shot you drop immediately after is legit? If you want to be useful, think of a way to stop the rioting.

Surprisingly, even though I think the Copperheads are a real pain that needs to be eliminated, I think it's the soldiers' fault in this case. Just send our best units to quell the riots and distribute minor punishments. The Copperheads have the right to hold their rallies, but if they go any further, get rid of them and show no mercy. They're becoming quite the annoyance.

I take it the second event, which seems like it will be much worse, has nothing to do with the Copperheads, since they aren't big enough to cause a major change. Perhaps a Ragnar DOW?

This is my idea:

We get the police out to settle the situation immediately. Once everything has calmed down, we will hold an organized hearing to see what will happen to the prominent figures in the action.

EDIT: No, LH said it was something to do with the Irish.

Lighthearter: What units do we have available for deployment in Ravus-York? And would I be able to "deputize" any of the other players here to direct said forces, if necessary? My first order of business is to regain control of any of our troops currently engaged in the riots, and then disperse the Copperheads. Again: Minimum of bloodshed. Causing a massacre will only create martyrs for their movement.

uhm, the police ARE TRYING to quell the riot/mob wars. they are apparently failing

I am willing to go into the battlefield/Ravus-York to help deal with the situation immediately.

These reactionary scum are traitors against our glorious workers' Republic, and deserve to be treated as such. I will not take part in any negotiating or bargaining with those who rebel against their rightful masters. While usually I'd be all for cracking some skulls, that would only give them martyrs. We should send in the police and apply non-lethal force to end this uprising.

We could crack down on the city with the military archer garrison and maybe pull together a spear company from the little village garrisons nearby, but that runs the risk that the villages will riot too.

Yeah you can send people you trust in to quell things if you want. Do you want this handled before your turnset or during?

- Lighthearter

I am in agreement with president Whosit and with Gruekiller. While excessive force will stop the riots easily, there is a chance that many more will spring up in response. The police must be sent to quell the riots and apprehend all who are involved. And may I say that I am glad that the Romans see the Copperheads for what they really are.

Also, I am willing to lend my services in any way possible.

I think I want it handled before the set, unless there is some advantage to taking care of during the set.

I don't suppose it would be possible to equip the archers with some kind of blunt arrowhead? Not sure why we'd have those lying around, but can't hurt to ask. I don't think I'll pull in the Spearmen, yet.

I'll see who I can tap to handle things. Sorry, MathNerd, but I'll have to decline your offer for two reasons: You're in the Opposition, and I want to make it clear that the administration is handling this, and two: Your little stunt earlier with the java script. Bad taste, that.

we're all in chat, and I need more people to help embarrass LH

I'm generally in agreement with the consensus on the riots.

Whosit, has the plan been sent yet?

The plan hasn't been written yet. It's going to be a few days. But in case you're curious: We're not in good shape.

Oh, Birmingham, what ruin has been laid upon you!

Since the fighting is taking place inside the city, blunted arrow heads, despite easily have their range reduced, will still be effective.

Conscripting spearmen from villages runs the risks of new guys going in for overkill, easily leading to deaths.

Ah, since Sonereal is here, I would like to officially ask him to lead the riot-suppression efforts. Remember, part of your task will be regaining control of our Military Police units who have gotten out of hand. I fully expect that they will respond to your commands in the name of the administration.
