Cull stop whining about spam. you dont like it go somewhere else. Trust me, ive considered it. These posts are comments. We are allowed to post things in our mind are we not? Plus i doubt any moderators even TRY to keep up with this thread. If they do, they probably assigned someone specially to us so as to have a chance of keeping up. Either way, they havent said anything yet. From my POV this thread has turned into half realpolitik, half OT (ranging from slightly related to the world cup) during the slow moments. deal with it. Its realpolitik. Its what we do. At least it seems that way IMO.

I have to agree with Cull. All it ends up doing is just cluttering up the thread and making it more difficult to get to useful stuff, and maybe even scare off some new people.

I agree with Cull. Any further spammers will be warned once. Then repercussions start flying. The same goes for those who participate AT ALL in spam conversations.

I'll handle this like a D&D game - jokes, movie quotes and other off-topic stuff for fun, laughter and socializing is OK - but the main focus MUST ALWAYS be on the game. If I see another comment about the World Cup or the morality of Slavery in here then the gloves come off.

With that said, it is my sincerest hope that we can all be friends and respect each other in here. Have fun - just know that there IS a line.

I will be unavailable from now until tomorrow night, so bear that in mind for when I get back.

A) Everyone seems to post LOADS when I'm asleep.
B) How about we use the bureaucratic system only when running Bureaucracy?
C) Sorry about the spam

You can make one. I do warn that you don't get disencouraged if no one joins your party for a long time. Many of the long-time parties have already been set, and there aren't many new players joining, so it might be tough to gain any real voting power. If you joined though, I would be :D.

Can I have a party?

Sure, just decide on an aspect of Civilization that you most like and give a brief description of it similer to the ones found on page 1.

Be aware it will be harder to gain followers if you are competing with another similer party. At the moment we have pacifists and pro-war, left wing and right wing groups, technocrats and religious nuts (me).

Also spend a second thinking whether you would want to stand alone as a neutral party or wether you would want to try to gain allies straight away.

Page 1 basically has everything you need. Even some summeries of each elected persons term in power.

Can I have a party?

Or you can join the modernizational party!:D

For a second there i thought you meant like a music-food-dancing-plentiful girls type of party:lol::lol::lol::eek:. i only got the kind of party he meant when Cull posted.

Why not fight for the equality of all workers in the Liberal Marxist Party?:D:goodjob:

There really does seem to be an influx of new people these days...

I agree with Cull about the spam thing, it really is annoying when you're gone for a day and then have to slog through 4 pages of irrelevant arguements (ahem, arya, MathNerd); however, I think the IC stuff is fine and should stay.

I've always been a little wary of Binary Research, but the math shows it to be ok, so I'm supporting it and trying it out in my own game.

Tech I think, should be construction-metal casting

I think we want to get monarchy and currency before we get feudalism. Also aysee we have already started metal casting and that will last the turnset, so in my plan i had us finishing that. I sent a plan to you last night (didnt i? If i didnt ill send it to you right away. I cant remember last night too well for some reason).

(Might as well jump on the bandwagon here.)

Can I have a party?

You can join the Imperial Party, and help guide England to victory against her many, many enemies! I love the smell of Russian towns burning in the morning.

For more relevance: Construction next, because Catapults are excellent, even for the defense. Monarchy before Feudalism because a) we can use the extra happiness, and b) it's a pre-req for Feudalism, along with Code of Laws, so it will be a bit cheaper to research Feudalism next.

Though not really sure if Feudalism is the best choice. We still lack Currency and Code of Laws, right? We need those.

Then I'll throw my lot in with the Imperial Party. We must Liberate the Russians from their towns and gold after all!

I also think construction would be a great idea next.

Can I have a party?

Or you could join the fastest rising party in England. The PCE is inviting new members and I predict we will have 4 or 5 by the next election. If you join PCE I can guarantee you will have a spot on the administration, and I hope you would rather join us then a communist party like LMP that is on the decline.

Oh, joy.

Hey, Whosit... :p

Anyway, I'm the leader of the Techno-cultural Party (TCP) and the de facto opposition leader right now. The opposition is at its highest levels in the history of this Realpolitik, and now would be a great time to join the TCP. However, if you feel that another party better suits your needs, feel free to join them! :D

EDIT: Sorry for the spammy arguing thing. I won't start again.

Excellent choice, sir! Welcome to the Imperial Party! When Lighthearter returns tomorrow, we can officially get you inscribed on the front page. In the meantime, I'll send you a PM just to help you get up to speed.

Hey, Whosit... :p

I can't help it if I'm awesome.

When the Imperial Party was founded by a newbie a while ago, someone (I can't remember who) commented on how they were too warlike to gain any supporters.

It's the name maybe that scares away possible supporters. Sure, it says "Imperial" but in reality, I'm pretty sure they mean "Global Liberation".

Clearly. :goodjob:

That surprises me, since I've always thought that many Civ players enjoy taking a more warlike stance. You know, warmongers vs. builders? Well, I may ask Lighthearter if I can rewrite the Party Charter because the old founders have vanished, and I want to clarify the direction I want the Imperial Party to move in.

Exactly! See? This is a mind we can work with, here!

On another forum, in a similar game, I was the Minister of Propaganda. Take for that as you will. ;)

The Imperial monkier is pretty cool but carries some negative baggage. Even America's "Imperial" party is called "The American Expansionist Party". Plus, the description on the front page makes us sound like savage barbarians when in reality, we simply believe war to further our democratic and political goals for the people.
