Rebalance of 2/3 of all civs in April!

I hope Sweden's carolean will be line infantry replacement than pike and shot.
Carolenas used both pikes and muskets, so the pike and shot replacement is not all that wrong.

I think the main issue is the idea of a melee and a separate anti cavalry unit don't make much sense from what I know of history, it is a thing created for game for balance purposes. The most commonly used melee weapon from what I know would be spears, but the game represent spearmen as a anti cavalry specialist rather than a generic melee unit. Pike and shot is in similar situation when based on history it should probably be the melee unit of renaissance era and the musketman unit should not exist at all.

I'd argue for The Zulu's Impi to return to being a melee unit like in Civ V. i.e. a replacement for Man-At-Arms?
It's pretty weak, especially in Zombie mode.

Hold Up

Ha ha ha poor Zulus anti cavalry in this game is garbage

Also has anyone at Fireaxis actually seen an Assegai? The shaft is two feet long!! One of Shaka’s big military innovations was converting his army from “exchange ineffective showers of light spears” to “charge in enemy’s face and disembowl him”

How is this an anticavalry loadout or doctrine?

I expect pikemen to be 45 with the next update to be in line with other unit changes. It would make Impis so much better

Pikemen are compared to other units of same era, cheaper, cost less in maintanence and need no resources, so if you up their strength you probably have to nerf them in other ways.

I mean...Impi's are already strong and so cheap it's insane. And from the Ikanda, they get better promotions faster...including the one against melee. Shaka is all about the "zerg rush" so it works brilliantly-especially when you combine it with Statue of Zeus for an additional 50%...I think the Zulu aren't in need of that much of a buff...maybe just add extra loyalty to they garrisoned unit thing to compete with Suleiman and Persia's loyalty bonuses. But I think they're really in a good spot.

  • Martyr (apostle promotion) to trigger when unit is condemned by enemy's military units (or a separate promotion that does this)

PLEASE add an achievement "A Very Naughty Boy" for having one of your apostles produce a relic after being condemned by a Roman unit.

It could also be called "The Bright Side of Life" or something

I wonder if Chandragupta gets redesign.

I like that he is more agressive than Gandhi's India but some more interesting bonus would be cool, or something added besides the casus belli bonus.
