Recources Design

Any idea how we can make a gas resource? Is that something someone could nifview from an existing Firaxis effect?

Yeah, I think the fallout would probably work good for that.

I still haven't done an organic model so if you rescue me and make one I won't complain.

Heh, well I could work on a Dewback then if you don't want it. I've always kind of liked them from the movies.

And the refinery looks really cool. :goodjob:
 
I've got some sci-fi buildings I'd rather make so the dewback is yours unless you don't have the time. My wife is away this weekend so that would be the earliest I try an organic.

Ok, I'll add the Dewback to my list then. That should be a fun one to make. :)
 
If we are using moons as a resource for coastal tiles can we simply use a Space Station of something similar as an improvement? Building a mine or refinery or something for the surface of a small sphere would look hokey IMO.
 
I'm not sure what improvement to put on an asteroid...simply something else in orbit to signify it's being worked?

I think we should go with 3 (or more) types of moons to signify ice, gas, and an ore resource. We could use the same space station improvement on each like the vanilla workboat.
 
yeah I like the idea. It'll probably be easy to just skin C.Roland's moon model to represend ice, gas and ore

Check here. I made another version of the above, more of a standard satellite. It could be reskinned to offer a difference if needed.
 
Bump. Some scattered resource ideas:

Spices. A luxury resorce causing +1 :) Possibly some other benefits if a certain building is present. There are more variants, but I think 3 will do:
-Andris: common
-Ryll: somewhat rare
-Glitterstim: very rare

Military resources.
-Nergon-14: A volatile mineral used for proton torpedo warheads and demolition charges. Missile heavy units and bombers should require this.
-Baradium: Highly volatile synthetic element used in thermal detonators and other powerful explosives. Alternative for nergon-14 perhaps, but realistically it shouldn't be a resource because it's synthetic.
 
Ideas:

Food Resources
Nerf, Bantha, Dewback, can't think of more for some reason

Luxury Resources
Glitterstim, Ryll, Holodramas (via Holonet wonder), Corusca gems, Gallinore rainbow gems

Strategic Resources
Baradium (for nuclear weapons), Cortosis Fiber (for anti-Force units), the components for durasteel, transparisteel (can't remember what they are), laminamium (for stronger units/required for YVH), Tibanna gas

I dunno if Vong coral should be a resource, more like an improvement for the Vong. It could still be captured but they wouldn't be totally up the creek if they didn't get any.
 
there are lots of waterfarms on hot planets. should we make water as a recources?
