Red Death

Probably not much, but the avatar is also, just as AssemblingTyphoons, an icon from civ5.
Was AssemblingTyphoons critical of Firaxis? This user seems to be disappointed with Canada's inclusion

I have no interest in this, and seems a very poor fit with the Civ 6 ethos; also the mash-up with Fortnite is bizarre. But if others like it, fine. The rest of the patch seems to be really good, so I'm happy.

Lonecat: it installs automatically.

I got my first win as the Pirates.

Did lot of crossing water so their ability came handy.
One thing I don't like about this scenario is that it doesn't have SINGLE PLAYER option. Is there any other methods to get around with?

You can play hotseat with AI opponents. Keep in mind, though, the AI has not been fully coded to play this scenario so they won't be good at all. Dennis mentioned that if there is interest in the community that they'll look into creating a single player version in the future.

Anyone else get the Treasury Empty message? I didn't loose any units.

so is finding a nuke pure luck? ive been playing a few hotseat games, never found one

I found one in a barb camp. As soon as I used it my opponents used one on me.

But is anyone else constantly getting 'Join failed: Error joining multiplayer session' when searching for a game?

Yep. I thought it was because i'm on a MacBook but i was later able to connected. I had better luck with going through the internet option rather then clicking on the play red death button.

Relax folks. It was a skunk works job. They're having fun and we're getting free goodies. And even if it wasn't what's the problem?

Looks like fun, I'll try it. Glad they're still pumping up VI and that they're having some creative fun along the way. Everybody wins.

I have to agree with this.

I'm not sure to what extent the "they should've applied these resources elsewhere" argument that's floating about is valid.

They've worked on AI for this patch as well, and many other areas of interest to many of us. I doubt time and resources are so linear or interchangeable to the point not working on Red Death would've produced a meaningful improvement elsewhere.

So overall this is a nice byproduct. If nothing else, these are good assets for some enterprising modders to make something to integrate into the main game in some form.

Perhaps it’s too much to ask, but combine nuclear war and runaway climate change from the last expansion, and one could trigger a global collapse and unlock a post-apocalyptic era to slug it out in.

Who knows. I see nothing wrong with this.

I found at least one in my games so far

It's very disappointing after the hype they generated with the trailer. Not exactly the new mode of multiplayer they suggested, unless they are so insulated from the rest of the game industry they hadn't noticed the Battle Royale games proliferation. I'll play this when I don't have the 4-6 hours for a proper online multiplayer game. Wish they would have put a little more effort into play balance. Borderers are pretty much unplayable. Very minor unique ability that only really comes into play if you make it to the end.

So, I wasn't planning to play this for a while, more interested in the regular single player game updates. And the post-apocalyptic, combat-heavy setting is not really my cup of tea.

But my four-year-old saw part of the livestream with me yesterday, got way too interested, and now that I've admitted that I can play it myself, she wants to watch me play it. :cringe: So I plan to try it out later today, I'll report back.

New mode to Civ 6 multiplayer, not to multiplayer in general. That's what I understood.

Hey hey hey. Get your rational and moderate approach the eff outta here.

Something was released that didn't apply directly to me and my playstyle therefore the game is totally dead and the devs have clearly all given up and are horrible at their jobs and probably in their personal lives as well.
