Iraq War y/n?

It's not about tolerance of killing of people, it's about what sort of actions demand the destruction of a regime. Not invading Iraq is not the same as tolerating Saddam's behavior.

All those failed UN resolutions seem to disagree with you somewhat. They didnt really do anything to alter his behavior and he just passed the cost of those sanctions onto his people.

But now your changing the argument. I'm not saying we should have invaded Iraq because of the assassination attempt on GHWB, I'm simply saying Iraq was a threat to our country, which the attempt does indicate, and President Clinton confirms in his comment about it.

Tragic as it was how did that constitute a threat for our country? Or are you changing arguments on me?

Well, he was a threat to our interests in the region....namely stability. The fact that he continued to play games with UN weapons inspectors made it clear he was recalcitrant to the world at large desiring that stability.

Ultimately Saddam was a threat to his own people, a threat to his neighbors and a threat to the entire world at large due to the potential impact of his unstable tyranny in a part of the world that the rest of the world is fairly dependent upon.

 And a botched invasion with no exit strategy sure fixed that.

And of course, I do have to call you out on that not being much of a threat to our country.
