Please tell me more resources to add to the list. Please tell me if something should be changed. Note this is a long list of resources, even though it's far from compleate it's already too much for one mod. But modders may use what they need of it.

Here's one that always bothered me. How about olives, they have played a huge part in history but they were never put in the game.

Maybe change Hit Books to Bestsellers? or Classics?

I'm thinking of making a resource mod. But that will be later after I update my other ones and make more buttons. Just wanted to get all the ideas out of my mind with this list :p.

Isn't Silicon what they put in fake boobs?

I thought it was Silica that is a raw material used in CPU's.

But I really like more resources... would they be needed to build units, buildings, ... or have they only +1 happiness or +1 health?
 
Yes many of them will be strategic, but in it's own this mod won't have new/changed units/buildings. But have data on what should be needed for units/buildings.

Will try to use more gold/science on some resources and not just commerce. Also other features like extra hammers for all cities with the resource and such.
 
Tungsten is Uber important in many apps. Same with Terbium for semi-conductors, Europium for lighting apps, and any other Rare Earth elements. You could have a rare earth resource since they are normally found together and simply extracted apart.

No one else has any suggestions on resources to add?

I know they use Silicon in semiconductors, I work for a very big semiconductor manufacturer, but if you read the entry I sent they talk about Silicon used in semiconductors is manufacturered, not mined.
 
How about monkeys? +:D for cities with a great artist and access to monkeys.
 
I think the mining in CivIV is more like the purification step. It's not like you dig a hole in the ground and get gold that is usable. Very unrealistic. I think you're both right about Si!
 
Well I will change it to Silica then, and mine that one instead.

Maybe a resource - wild animals (common in jungle)? Like monkeys and parrots.


And about factoring, was thinking of having something like settlers where you have to change some of the resources into others before you can use them. But that wont be in this mod in the beginning.
 
I was thinking more about organ grinding monkeys, but zoos are good too.
 
Another potential resource would be rubber.
 
He's got rubber, under mushrooms. Rubber isn't in CivIV? Can you tell I never played beyond the 2nd era? ;)
