The Roman Senate had started at once! Emperor Hadrian was there for the first day. The parties that came back from Old Rome were the Empirelist, Commercial, Militant, Pax Romana, and Tommarow parties. The Emperor also allowed 2 new parties the Imperial party and the Republican Party.
The Imperial party was in favor of keeping power with the Emperor while the Republican party was in favor of Senate power. The Imperial party was also along the lines of the Tommarow and Militant parites while the Republicans were more like the Pax Romana and Commercial parties.
The Senate remained 125 senators. The first election took place and the results were mostly even, but the Republican party recieved the most as people wanted to have the senate back, rather then a Emperor.
35- Republican
25- Commercial
20- Pax Romana
15- Militant
12- Imperial
8- Empirelists
5- Tommarow
A vote was called by the Senate on the issue of a NAP with Egypt. 75-Aye 45-Nay. A NAP was to be signed, the emperor agreed.
The second agenda was the creation of a fortress in Carthage, brought up by Militant Senator. 55-aye 65-nay. The emnperor intervened and allowed the construction of a fortress in Carthage.
It was now easy to see the Senate was just a puppet to entertain the people. The senate had a secret emergency meeting, leaving out the Imperial party, who were thought as spies to keep the Senate in check. A vote was issued for the removal of Emperor Hadrian. 102-Aye 6-Nay.
That night a lone Roman Soldier approched the Emperor with news. He was of the Preatorian Guard, those entrusted with protection of the emperor.
"By order of the Senate of 710, you have been sked to step down from office of Emperor, failure to do so will result in the forcefukl removal of you from office."
:What is this? So the senate wishes to dispatch of me, ha! Guards kill this man then rid me of the Senate."
The guards stood still.
"Guards!"
The guards finallt began to move, but towards the emperor.
"Step down from office or we will force you to."
"Never"
Those were Emperor Hadrians last words. He was killed by 10 of his loyal guards. The guards returned to the Senate telling the deed was done. The Praetorian Guard, long the guard of the Senate, was finally back to doing their job.
Senator Calygula of the Republican Party was voted as the new Emperor, the Emperor of old Rome. More like the Prime Minister of Rome. He told the people Emperor Hadrian had died of illness and that the senate would resume full power over Rome.
