AUTOMATED LP MARKET
You can automatically buy and sell LP now for 15 EP each. Like armies and fleets, you can not use LP until the next turn.
Check this section every turn, as the price can and will change every turn.
If you wish to participate in the LP Market from here on out, add the following to the end of your orders.
# of LP willing to Buy:
Price willing to pay FOR EACH:
# of LP willing to Sell:
Price willing to sell FOR EACH:
You must add this to the end of your orders every turn, even if youre not changing your demand or supply. Your follow through is not required. You will not be held to your earlier pledge to sell or buy X amount of LP for Y each. I understand that things happen.
The Automated LP Market is currently in beta. Expect wonkiness. In the event of shortages, everybody will still be able to receive the LP they attempted to buy, but expect prices to skyrocket. In the event of a surplus, expect prices to be deflated.
GLOBAL ECONOMIC NEWS
Two countries had an economic boom this turn. When a country is randomly selected for an economic boom or bust, further RNG rolls are determined who is affected. Having a trade agreement or free trade agreement increases the chance of being affected.
After initial affected countries are determined, more rolls are determined who they affect, and so on. A country wont infect twice. Riccio, for instance, has so many agreements that it was hit affected once in its own economic boom, and three times in Chinas boom. However, once the those affected by Riccio roll is done, it isnt done again to prevent endless rebounding.
For this turn, anybody with just normal trade relations werent affected because I wanted to see how it would go with just trade agreements/FTAs. In the future, anybody who has normal trade relations and above will have a chance to be tapped.
Economic downturns work the same way and can be equally dramatic. (10)

GLOBAL AFFAIRS
Every country now has a new trait listed on the stat sheet depending on its power relative to others. NPCs take into account this stuff when engaging in diplomacy and otherwise is just for bragging rights.
The ranks are
Insignificant(<-2)
Minor (-1-0)
Regional (z-score 0-1)
Great (1-2)
Superpower (2-3, not extremely likely)
Hyperpower (>3, gamebreaking)
But since these things are based on a z-score, dont get too bent out of shape. Some countries have inflated scores due to having a large bank (which only count for little), for example. Manufactories also weigh more in the calculation than provinces (because they weigh more in trade than provinces). An army weighs more than a province or manufactory. A fleet weighs the most.

COMMENTARY
The Baurish Empire of Holy Rome is once more a great power and, as usual, a great power had to lose its position to make room for the economic giant. The FRCN suffered a massive blow in power when the invasion of Iceland failed so spectacular that this years training program wasnt able to cover the military losses from that single invasion. The only saving grace for that battle is that, truly, it could have been worst. As such, the FRCN is now merely a regional power once more. Meanwhile, Riccios war with the Glorious Corp has come to an end, with the latter maintaining its independence. Roman Legions, meanwhile, marched triumphantly into India. Stretching from the Balkans to India, from Persia to Central Asia, the resurgent Roman Empire truly lives up to its name and glory.
The Principality of Greater Wallachia, after years of being a minor power suffering from high revolt risk and economic uncertainty, is now finally a regional power player in Eastern Europe. Tensions are in the rise in the region however as the Russian Empire, based in Alaska, finally has expanded westward across Siberia into Eastern Europe, establishing a border with the decaying Novgorod and its little brother, the Baltic Union, as well as Wallachia. Russia is only a minor power player, but that could change on a dime.
In South America, British diplomats extracted American South America at bayonet point and sold off large shares of Brazil to the Merchant Empire of Riccio. The British Empire and Riccio are now the dominant players in South America, and another British-American War has been avoided.
Until one looks at Africa however. American settlers clashed with FRCN, Venetian, Italian, and Baurish settlers in Africa.
Meanwhile, the War of the Nile rages on, with the Egyptians temporarily gaining the upperhand and pushing Kuwaiti forces out of Egypt. Intense fighting followed that ended with Egyptian forces occupying Syria and Palestine. With the King of Sudans position becoming direr by the hour; it looks like Egypt will soon gain an upper hand in the war, breaking the blockade. However, one cant underestimate Kuwaiti numbers, especially now that the League Civil War is finally over.
The Republic of the Rio Grande has fallen into minority once more due to its paralyzed governance. It finds itself among friends however, as the Republic of the Rio Grandes position in North America is unassailable thanks to its friendship with the British Empire, the defeat of the Americans in the War of 1823, and general economic prosperity at home.
As the world enters 1828, take a moment to look at the map. More and more territory that was once up for grabs in the post-Revolutionary world is now under the control of centralized governments. Four continents: North and South America, Europe, and Australia, are all mostly claimed. In Africa, the decline of Ethiopia, and the closing off of American and European settlement, is seeing several powers scrambling for the Dark Continent. As the border skirmishes between American settlers and settlers from other major states attests to, the future of Africa is in flux. Conflicting claims cancel out, and this will surely lead to war in the coming years. In Asia, it is likely the rest of India and Southeast Asia will be claimed this year, as well as Japan.
And finally, there is the China Question. As the richest country in the world, the Inner Dominion of China is poised to become one of the great powers in world affairs within the next five years by accident, next year if China so wished.
Final GM Notes
Do NOT post trade agreements with all or accept all at all in this thread ever. If you sign trade agreements or free trade agreements, you must put that in your orders and you must list every country you are signing with. You also must mention all alliances you are joining, defensive pacts being signed, non-aggression treaties, and embargoes in your orders.
