The Russian Empire (Diplomacy):

The Tsar is hereby offering Favoured Trade Partner to: Merchant Empire of Riccio

Duly accepted. The Riccese government looks forward to the abundance of Russian furs!

The peace negotiation between Egypt and the League of Urun have broken down. In light of this, Egypt issues a formal petition for assistance.

This conflict is between us and them. We ask other nations to respect this and not interfere.

Egypt shall pay for being unreasonable in peace negotiations.

We were entirely reasonable in light of Urun's victory in the war being only slight and the outcome still up in the air. The League and Kuwait will pay heavily for its aggression and greed in the Sinai.

The Russian Empire (Diplomacy):

The Tsar is hereby offering Favoured Trade Partner to: Republic of the Rio Grande

The Tsar is hereby offering a Defensive Pact to: Republic of the Rio Grande

Accepted.

The Republic of the Rio Grande also expresses its support for the British Empire's peace plan, on the condition that British Florida is ceded to us.

Riccio announces that once the War between Egypt and Kuwait ceases, it will be willing to help the two rebuild. In the meantime the Riccese policy of neutrality must continue.

Refugee camps, however, have been started on the eastern end of Crete to accommodate those seeking shelter from the war.

Riccio thus requests that it be allowed to designate ferry locations in Egyptian and Kuwaiti territory where neutral ships may take civilians to Crete. It now awaits Egyptian and Kuwaiti approval of this initiative so that those who undertake the journey need not worry about potential attacks from Egyptian or Kuwaiti fleets. We encourage both belligerents to accept the neutrality of Riccese ships so that they may ferry civilians away from the battlefield and thus prevent unnecessary suffering.

Naturally, due to how high nationalist tensions can run, Kuwaitis and Egyptians will be segregated in separate communities so as to prevent any outbursts of violence. At the war's end, these refugees will be allowed to return to their homelands.

Yes, I know I have a revolt going on.

The blockade shall allow ships through to designated areas of the Egyptian coast as long as the ships agree to be boarded and searched both on the way in and on their way out so as to ensure no secret aid is being brought in and no important officials are being extracted outside of Egypt.

Kuwaitis have no reason to be refugees as no part of Kuwait is under occupation.

Riccio can agree to this, though it mentions it already searches ships bound for the the warzone to ensure the state policy of neutrality is enforced.

OOC: There are some Kuwaiti refugees abroad due to the occupation and fighting years ago, as well as some recent incursions, but the numbers are quite low and most Urun refugees are displaced internally. Because it is by no means safe in the areas involved still, most still have yet to return and probably won't until the first years following the conclusion of the war, and that really depends on the peace settlement.

Egypt can get behind this.

RP (for the Rule of Cool);

As the borders of Wallachia expanded, so did it's armies. Conscripts from all over the land swarmed and joined the Wallachian army. General Patrascu was pleased. But President Marcu Anghel wasn't. Democracy has now fully replaced the old Monarhic system, and that meant he could no lnoger be the leader.

The candidates were lowly local leaders, with barely any knownledge, except one of them, who presented himseld as a candidate from "old Wallachia" . Nobody knew clearly who he was, but rumor has reached Marc;u's ears that he was.... Terente, the runaway bandit.

Indeed, Terente left a path of ambushed caravans and dead corrupt officials behind him.

Fortunately, Marcu had another chance: By democratic laws, he had the right to run for president again, and with the population support he had, he was sure to win again....

Diplomacy

Free trade deal, non-aggression pact and permission to set a Taoist structure in Holy Roman territory with Holy Rome.

Both countries do offer free trade agreements to Holy Rome though.

To: Scotland, Birmingham Trade League
We accept free trade agreements with such cordial nations, as we might furthermore retain impartiality.

To: Merchant Empire of Riccio
Noble friend, who is brother under the Catholic Church, we have arisen among ourselves great relations. May we see further our brotherhood in great auspice and offer your nation pact of alliance.

To: Roman Empire in Constantinopolis
While our imperial governments may differ on the subject of the title of Emperor of Rome, we ought not allow this that it cause grievances between our territories. Our merchants should bear no ill intent among themselves, and so we extend a hand in reconciliation with a trade agreement and treaty of non-hostility.

To: Castilian Empire
Most esteemed neighbor and ancient brother, our nations, descendants of ancient Germania and Hispania of Roman legacy, should revitalize our ties with modern bonds. We propose the signing of a free trade agreement and treaty of non-aggression.

To: Inner Dominion of China
Nation of eternity, may it be witnessed the communications of our ambassadors. Holy Rome prescribes, for so it bring prosperous futures, the establishing of a non-aggression pact between our nations, noble and prestiged.

It is the traditional policy of the Riccese Empire to avoid alliances because it could complicate its delicate position of neutrality and trust as a third party in settling disputes.

However, we take note that the Bauarish realm does not openly antagonise other states, and this makes us feel an exception could be had here.

Riccio will thus agree to the signing of a defensive alliance, with the corollary that it not apply to conflicts openly instigated by Riccio or the Holy Roman realm.

Traditions often are held for a reason. However, that does not mean one can not scrutinise them and debate their merits from time to time. We believe that the traditional position of Riccese peaceful coexistence with other nations will not be compromised by a defensive alliance, something that would be of great utility in a time where land-hungry opportunists surely abound.

No misinterpretation let be made, for Holy Rome is likewise a nation that of war and of conflict forswears, unless it be to our nation a direct offense, in which case necessary defense shall, to preserve sovereignty, be executed. It is our expectation that this pact would take form in defensive alliance, both as in actuality so in formality. As such, we shall confirm that thus should the case be, and that such alliance is, under such treaty, implicit upon prior understanding. As it shall be good and written, unto you be peace.

Holy Rome will be ensured: aggression is not the way of the Inner Dominion.

We not only accept the pact but suggest we enhance our trade with a pact reflecting our wu-wei ("nothing doing") approach: this free trade pact we offer will help focus on ensuring our merchants are greatly connected.

We finally wish to set a "Outer Speech" to Holy Rome to help set up a Taoist academy in your realm; consider this for the greater mental flow that could be generated from such a academy.

Holy Rome accepts this free trade pact with the nation in and of China. While our government can not in good conscience endorse the spreading of the religious Taoism, we shall not forbid any Tao scholars who are also registered merchants to practice academic rites in buildings established as trading posts.

We would seek to establish hence a conclave in Hamburg for our merchants, especially those of the Tao ways. This conclave will serve as trade hub, Tao academy and Tao temple. What ever the case we will hope Hamburg would also serve as a good trade hub to increase not only our trade range but our "Outer Speech range" so to speak.
We thank you for your permission.
