[RFC] The History of the Arab World

Spoiler :
This is a double update and the events are happening simultaniously with the next post. This follows Al-Hadi's actions and the other Al-Rashid's conquests.

Al-Mahdi died in 1413AD and his son Abu Abdullah Musa ibn Mahdi al-Hadi became the new Caliph. He appointed his brother Harun Al-Rashid as the Commander of the Faithful and moved most his powers to him. He was more interested in the new extends of the World. Thus sent expeditions towards distant lands as he wanted to map out the known world. His caravans discovered another the Malinese peoples on the southern side of the great Saharan desert, these slavers and gold miners were also following Islam, which had spread there hundreds years ago with some forgotten arabian merchants.

Al-Hadi also sent small Dhow north from Al-Andalus to greet the northern European Kingdoms. These Islamic sailors encountered a nation called England living on a rainy island. This Kingdom was also following the one faith, though ruled by a queen called Elizabeth. However these voyages had many dangers and the pirate pressure on the Mediterranean Sea and Indian ocean was constantly growing.

During the first years of Al-Hadi's reign many significant new technologies were developed and the Constitution of Caliphate of Arabia was written.

Al-Hadi continued his expeditions and his new ships were able sail and navigate great distances on oceans. Thus he ordered a few of them to travel west towards the American lands that had been discovered recently by some brave European sailors.

The Arabian sailors discovered three Empires in America and formed diplomatic relationships with these backwards Empires in order to once spread Islam there and perhaps later to subjugate them. However, the Aztec Empire had already been attacked by Ottoman soldiers and the Inca Empire was being conquered by the Portuguese, so these plans were postponed.

Another Asian nation was also discovered east of China. The Japanese peoples were very cautious towards strangers and didn't wish to be in any connection with the Arabs.

Al-Hadi also founded new outposts for the Caliphate. The Northeastern outpost of Samarqand was founded in Uzbek steppe and the slave port of Zanzibar south of ancient Ethiopia. Al-Hadi had even more ambitious plans, but he was an old man by now and he didn't have time to fulfill them.

Al-Hadi's last action as a Caliph was the construction of Forbidden Palace in Dilli, as he passed away in 1495AD and Harun Al-Rashid officially became the new Caliph.

Meanwhile Al-Rashid commanded the Indian garrisons to occupy the remnants of the collapsed Para Empire. The cities of Thiruvananthapuram and Pitikapuram were attached to the Caliphate without meaningful resistance by their citizens. The Arabian Caliphate now covered the whole Indian Peninsula and faced now real threats in Asia.

The power of the Caliphate was growing and the emissaries from the Holy Islamic Empire came to meet Al-Rashid in Bagdad with interesting proposition. The Holy Islamic Empire was in a desperate situation as had been attacked by Triparti Alliance formed by the Kingdom of France, the Islamic Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Russian Empire. Viking raiders were also looting the northern parts of the Empire. The Empire's armies were outnumbered and they couldn't fight the enemies on all fronts, thus they came to seek Arabian protection, as the Caliphate of Arabia was the only nation powerful enough to save them.

Al-Rashid eagerly accepted to protect the Holy Islamic Empire from the Islamic-Jewish Triparti Alliance in order to increase Arabia's influence in Europe. The Holy Islamic Empire agreed to become a vassal of the Arabian Caliphate and Al-Rashid declared war on the Triparti Alliance. The Holy Islamic Empire was renamed as the Sultanate of Germany.

After the Arabian Caliphate vassalised the Holy Islamic Empire, the Viking Union promised not to raid northern Germany as they didn't want any quarrel with the Caliphate.

In 1485AD a massive Arabian Army crossed the border to France and attacked a significant Frankish city of Bordeaux. The Arabian army was extremely well trained and consisted of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Egyptian and Lebanese Camel Riders Regiments. The army was lead by the 1st Riders of Makkah commanded by Harun al-Rashid himself.

Although Bordeaux was well defended and fortified, it fell instantly in front of the superior Arabian Army. However, it was rumoured that the Arabian minority, instructed by Harun al-Rashid's spy, in Bordeaux opened one the city gates and let the Riders in, after which the Frankish defenders had no chance to repel the attack. Bordeaux fell.

However, meanwhile in the Sultanate of Germany a Frankish army, lead by the King of France himself Charles Martel, attacked the city of Frankfurt and captured it. When the word of this reached Harun al-Rashid, he collected his best men with him and rode towads Hessen. Al-Rashid arrived at Frankfurt couple weeks later and the Frankish soldiers were still looting the city. Al-Rashid caught them by a surprise and massacred Charles Martel's Army within couple of hours. Charles Martel himself was killed in action. Frankfurt was liberated under the Sultanate's control.

The fighting continued and the Sultanate of Germany managed to capture Rostock from the Netherlands with Harun Al-Rashid's assistance. However, this was only the last nail to the coffin as France had lost their main army together with the beloved King and Russian Empire wasn't able to assist her allies.

Thus in 1523AD Harun Al-Rashid, now the Caliph of Arabia, received the unconditional surrender from France and they were vassalised as the Sultanate of France. One by one the other members of the Triparti Alliance signed peace with the Caliph, who dictated the terms for peace. A peace treaty was also signed with Mongolia, which declared war on the Caliphate earlier due to Al-Hadi's expansions to Uzbek Lands.

The Arabian Caliphate had won the war and gained control of the heartlands of Europe. The Caliphate was mightier than ever. Thus in order to honor the memory of his brother, Harun Al-Rashid compiled Al-Hadi's maps of the world in to an Atlas, updated it and published it as the Atlas of Arabia.

Wipe them out... All of them.

Quite the empire you have going here.

@AOS9001: I'll try, at least Turkey and Khmers.. Though stability might kick in pretty soon.

@Colonialism: Islam is at 35%, so I am getting pretty close, but as I stated earlier, I am prohibited to spread Islam to foreign cities via missionaries.

I'd definitely be in favor of getting Turkey to get on it's knees and begging for mercy. But as much as I dislike the Khmer and can't get enough of wiping them out, I think your stability will take a serious hit if you take on the Khmer. They're just too far, too hard to control.

Nice updates, by the way.

The Europeans can spread Islam for you. How would you slow down its spread?

@Kullervo: Yeah me too. I actually played a little ahead and they asked to become my vassal, but I refused, because I rather wipe them out. And Thanks!:)

@Alexius08: Probably yes, I doubt there is way to prevent it from spreading. Although, I hope that the 40% won't fulfill too quick.

@Karalysia: That's also my plan, however, Turkey goes first.

BTW, I won't be able update in a week or so. Sorry.

Great updates, as usual.

btw, why are you worried about islam spreading to 40%?

How does Islam's influence have to do with the game lasting longer?
(Is this some RFC thing? I don't play this mod myself)

If playing as the Arabs, the 3 things you need to win are getting 3 shrines by 1300, conquering or vasssalizing Spain, Egypt and Carthage by 1300 and spreading Islam to 40% of the world (this is the easiest objective, as there's no time limit, and Islam automatically goes to every city you conquer).

I am back and I intend to update in a day or two.

BTW, I just remembered to ask that has any of you seen England founding Exeter and York?!? And not managing to control Ireland in 1525AD..

I've seen an AI English Exeter, but no York - I think I've seen Newcastle, though. And I've seen England not control Ireland near 1400, but not 1525...

Yeah, I have seen Exeter couple times too, but never York. It is usually Manchester/Newcastle. I guess having both Exeter and York leads to them sucking big-time -> free Ireland.

EDIT: I have once seen them founding Bristol too..

I've seen Edinburgh as well, as Inverness was auto-razed. I want to know what the names are for different locations are, though...
