Rhye's Catapult

wait a minute...
what's the in the dots before \My Games\?

If it's in your documents, it's wrong. It must be placed in your real civ4 folder.

I did that but it doesn´t work either... But I installed 0.60 and it works! I´ll try again with 0.62 and see how it goes...

EDIT: Nope. I´m having the same problem... And it is in the main folder of Civ 4, not the one in my documents...

On a side note, using .60, I´ve took the liberty of changing some of the terrain in south Argentina, so it reflects a little how it really is down there...

This is the original, with lots of desert and grassland in Tierra del Fuego and Malvinas.

Here I´ve added some tundra and plains in the area. Maybe if you consider tundra to be too much, replace it with plains, especially in the tip, but I think grassland is innacurate...

p.s. Good luck with Ivory Coast next Saturday!

lol, i dont think they need it.

I downloaded 0.62 again and I´m having the same problem... :(

P.S. Thanks! Good luck with Ghana on Monday also!

Well, in 2002 we were one of the candidates

About v062, don't worry. I'll post 065 soon.

:D Great! But I found the problem! It was conflicting with the sevopedia I had in my Customassets folder, as they shared the CvPediaBonus.py and CvPediaMain.py files, which you added in v062... ;)

Ivory Coast can be dangerous, as well as Serbia. With Holland, Argentina is in the group of death and they will need all our best wishes.

I envy you, guys, as you have a team to worry about.. ;)
But I wish you all good luck and hope to see a great tournament... :king:

Heh, I have the privelege of being one of the few Israelis who don't give a damn about soccer. Everybody is so excited about the World Cup and I just don't care at all. :D

aaah.....you have fallen under the sway of a heathen religion.
Abandon your heathenish ways and join our fanatism!

Nah. I don't have time to be fanatic about any more than I already am. And anyway, I've had bad experiences with soccer. A few months ago, just when I was warming up to it, early-morning sleepiness paired with stupidity and soccer led me to get a high-energy military-boot kick to the lips. There's still a stiff lump of scar tissue inside my lower lip flesh (but I look normal).

Ouch... I played for years, but was terrible, although I never got kicked.

Rhye, it seems (after a short try at India) that Meditation ALLOWS Hinduism, but doesn't found it. Same with Priesthood and Buddhism. I'll wait for v0.65 to try Indian again.

EDIT: Hinduism founded out of nowhere in Delhi, my only city, 1725 BC. Shouldn't I be able to found the religion earlier than this?

SK, from 060 or something like that, religions are founded automatically, with no interference of technologies and players.
I'm still waiting the impressions of you all on this.

Personally I like it A LOT. The only thing I believe is that Christianity Holy City should be Roma...

I agree, it will spread better that way.

Christianity was something of a barbarain religion before the Romans imposed Greco-Roman philosophy on it anyway (then Luthor started the trend to bring it back to its barbarian roots).

That looks much better. I've been to that area. There are glaciers down there, all over the place. Tundra is appropriate.

Oh, and I vote against Rome as a Holy City for Christianity. The religious significance of Jerusalem should be reflected.

Buddhism hasn't been founded yet, and I've since taken control of an Arabia squeezed between the culture giants of Persia and Egypt. :(

While it's historically accurate, it kicks gameplay in the gnads. I like to rush for the religious techs, especially playing as India or any other religious civ, for a quick culture/happiness boost. I want to play a game, not re-live history with 100% accuracy. Religion is a whole new aspect of the civilization series, and this option is largely taken away by restricting who can have it and when. Why couldn't Spain or Egypt found Christianity? Sure, it might have a slim chance, but maybe it should be possible.

That's just my two cents.

I do like the historical feeling automatic religions give, but I also think that we need some compensation for the loss in gameplay.
My broad idea - How about leaving automatic religions as they aer AND choose new tech(which already exist in the techtree) and attach them a religious significance- the first to discover them founds a new holy city for his state religion(it could happen only once, so each religion will have a max of 2 holy cities). This city will give money for every city with its religion, but will not give sight to those cities.
For example - Chrisitanity found in jerusalem as always, but in 300 AD greece discovers <insert tech name here> and byzantion becoms a second christian holy city. It could also happen with rome. As it did in real life.
Many religions have more than one holy city, like Mecca and medina and jerusalem to Islam, Jerusalem and Rome etc.
What do you think?
