[R&F] Rise and Fall General Discussion Thread

Less than 2 months until release.

Gah! Will time please hurry up already.

Time flies when you’re having fun. Or when you have a giant assignment with a looming deadline that you keep putting off. So either start having fun or start having guilty fun burdened with the knowledge that soon you will be scrambling to do way too much stuff all at once and OH MY GOD WHY DIDN’T I START THIS A WEEK AGO?!

It would be interesting if the courthouse were brought back; courthouses becoming more expensive the more they are built.
I would not be at all surprised if it came back as a new city center building that increases loyalty. If you can trust the government to apply laws fairly, you're less likely to try to kick them out.

You should have. This thread was having practically a post per minute a week ago. Now, it's about an hour per post, which is not enough to keep pace with breaking the record for having the most posts in the Civ VI General Discussion thread by release day.

To keep pace, we need to make 42 posts per day here.

Have we seen any rearranging of the City Center graphics that would suggest this?

I would say that a courthouse building is possible for the new Government Plaza district, but you only get one of those per empire. Maybe a supreme court, however?

A Supreme Court would be great for the Government Plaza, while the Courthouse can be built in the City Centre of your civ's city not founded by you.

It would be possible to have a Supreme Court in a city other than your capital, just like how Sucre is the judicial capital of Bolivia (La Paz being the legislative and executive capitals of that county).

Zaarin and PhilBowles:
Churchill is a huge character, he would make a great leaderscreen puffing a cigar and grunting.

You Brits would love this one probably:

Is that Dusty Springfield's mum?

Let me explain how welcome the idea of Thatcher would be with the following anecdote: When she died my friend's Dad organised a street party in celebration. He was far from the only one.
Thatcher died too recently though.

Perhaps we have to wait for Civ VIII or Civ IX at the earliest before we can entertain this idea.

And Ding-Dong the witch is dead was heard everywhere...

I'm guessing the expansion will have all female leaders for my Civ guesses below :)

Godasiyo - Iroquois
Seondeok of Silla - Korea
Kösem Sultan - Ottoman
Irene of Athens - Byzantine
Mama Ocllo - Inca
Wilhelmina - Netherlands (Dutch)
Shalom Zion (Salome Alexandra) - Hebrews (Judea)
Dido - Carthage
Esther - Persia

Not throwing shade on those who may not know, as I've seen it on many a Civ thread over the years including this one, but just giving a general point of clarification.. Since many people here have non-American origin, it may not be as familiar to you so I hope I can bring this in the right way..

The demonym of a Native American tribe is the same as its tribal name. For instance:
France : French :: Maya : Maya
Greece : Greek :: Inca : Inca
China : Chinese :: Iroquois : Iroquois
Russia : Russian :: Yup'ik : Yup'ik
India : Indian :: Taíno : Taíno

If you put it in those terms, here's to Fidel Castro!

If we've run out of things to discuss...

How about the fact we're getting 14 new buildings?

Is it safe to assume 3 of those buildings are Governemtn Plaza?. That leaves 11 new buildings, not to mention, we could assume that 2 of them are Unique Buildings (and may not actualy count towards the number)

So what do you think those buildings are? Even with the other district having 3 buildings, that still leaves more buildings that we don't know about.

At least 9 are for the Plaza, one for each form of government.
